  3. 3. Development and application of composite energy deposition kernels for photon therapy planning

    Author : Anders Eklöf; Simo Hyödynmaa; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : Energy deposition kernels; volume overlap algorithm; radiotherapy planning; photon pencil beams; treatment optimization; biological treatment objectives; medicinsk strålningsfysik; Medical Radiation Physics;

    Abstract : In recent years, the use of optimization algorithms in radiation therapy planning has increased dramatically. All optimization algorithms as well as most modern implementations of conventional therapy planning, use energy deposition kernels as a fundamental part of the calculations. READ MORE

It is argued that due to the conceptual impact of classical theism’s doctrine of divine simplicity there is a good reason for answering this question in the negative. READ MORE

  5. 5. Kalman Filters for Nonlinear Systems and Heavy-Tailed Noise

    Author : Michael Roth; Fredrik Gustafsson; Simo Särkkä; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This thesis is on filtering in state space models. First, we examine approximate Kalman filters for nonlinear systems, where the optimal Bayesian filtering recursions cannot be solved exactly. These algorithms rely on the computation of certain expected values. READ MORE
