17. A Framework for Evaluation and Design of an Integrated Public Transport System
Abstract : Operators of public transport always try to make their service as attractive as possible, to as many persons as possible and in a so cost effective way as possible. One way to make the service more attractive, especially to elderly and disabled, is to offer door-to-door transportation. READ MORE

18. Modelling of Transport Processes Involved in Service Life Prediction of Concrete : Important Principles
Abstract : The main focus in this licentiate thesis is a description of the environmentally introduced action of diffusing and chemically reactive (e.g. carbonation and chemical-physical adsorption-desorption) matter in the pore solution and in the air-filled space in the pore system of the material. 19. Situating Simulators : The integration of simulations in medical practice
Abstract : This study examined the practices of integrating simulators into medical education. Simulators have been observed in use to discern how medical practices are created out of the simulations. Video recordings of the simulations have been analysed, complemented by interviews with instructors and students. READ MORE

20. Evolutionary Materialism: Towards a Theory of Anticipatory Adaptive Assemblages
Abstract : This thesis is an investigation into how meta-heuristic multi-objective optimisation processes (genetic algorithms driven by evolutionary solvers) can bring about materials-related advantages in architectural performance. It redefines the architect’s and engineer’s role from being designers of a singular space or structure to being designers of entire species of spaces, and discusses a particular method – anticipatory adaptive assemblages (AAA) – that allows such processes to produce many generations of design iterations that eventually yield individuals optimised for a set of predefined objectives.
