1. The Visible and the Invisible : Color Contrast Phenomena in Space
Abstract : This study deals with the changes in color that arise in space, primarily simultaneous contrast in three dimensions. The typical account of simultaneous contrast is that the contrast phenomenon occurs between two or more color surfaces seen together, thus affecting one another. READ MORE

2. Food choice in fallow deer – experimental studies of selectivity
Abstract : In this thesis, I experimentally investigate feeding selectivity in fallow deer (Dama dama), with respect to plant secondary compounds, especially tannins, which can decrease the quality of foods. I found that fallow deer avoided foods with higher amounts of tannic acid and Quebracho tannin, even though the deer ate some high-tannin food. READ MORE

3. Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Angiography - Development and optimization of techniques for paramagnetic and hyperpolarized contrast media
Abstract : Contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (CE-MRA) is a diagnostic method for imaging of vascular structures based on nuclear magnetic resonance. Vascular enhancement is achieved by injection of a contrast medium (CM). READ MORE

4. Ultrasound Contrast Agents Loaded with Magnetic Nanoparticles : Acoustic and Mechanical Characterization
Abstract : The current methodologies in body scanning diagnostic uses different simultaneous imaging modalities like Ultrasound (US), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), single photon emission tomography (SPECT) and positron emission tomography (PET). The field requires combination of different modalities for effective use in clinical diagnostics. READ MORE

5. Colour in Enclosed Space Observation of Colour Phenomena and Development of Methods for Identification of Colour Appearance in Rooms
Abstract : The main problems dealt with in this thesis are (1) how colours can appear in rooms due to various colour combinations and lighting conditions, and (2) how we can identify and compare colour appearance in rooms. One aim is to demonstrate and discuss the complex problem of how certain conditions in a room affect colour appearance, and to give examples and describe the co-operation between some of the affecting factors in experimental rooms.
