    Abstract : This thesis presents a novel approach to integrate chemical vapor deposition (CVD) graphene into silicon micro- and nanoelectromechanical systems (MEMS/NEMS) to fabricate different graphene based MEMS/NEMS structures and explore mechanical properties of graphene as well as their applications such as acceleration sensing, humidity sensing and CO2 sensing. The thesis also presents a novel method of characterization of CVD graphene grain boundary based defects. READ MORE

  2. 2. Modelling of a single layer graphene membrane

    Author : Kaveh Samadikhah; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Graphene membranes; Computational homogenization; Shell-membrane theory; Tersoff–Brenner potential.; Multiscale solution;

    Abstract : The present contribution deals with the modeling of thin graphene membranes. Such membranes have a significant electrical and physical properties used for nano or microdevices like resonators and Atomic Force/mass Measurements (AFM) [1]. The membrane is considered as a homogenized graphene monolayer on the macroscopic structural scale. READ MORE

  3. 3. Graphene Hot-electron Transistors

    Author : Sam Vaziri; Mikael Östling; Max Lemme; Suman Datta; KTH; []
    Keywords : Graphene; hot-electron transistors; graphene base transistors; GBT; cross-plane carrier transport; tunneling; ballistic transport; heterojunction transistors; graphene integration; graphene transfer; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Abstract : Graphene base transistors (GBTs) have been, recently, proposed to overcome the intrinsic limitations of the graphene field effect transistors (GFETs) and exploit the graphene unique properties in high frequency (HF) applications. These devices utilize single layer graphene as the base material in the vertical hot-electron transistors. READ MORE

  4. 4. Robust Platforms for Superconductivity : Disorder Robustness and Topological Density of States Peaks

    Author : Tomas Löthman; Annica M. Black-Schaffer; Carsten Honerkamp; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Superconductivity; Odd-Frequency Superconductivity; Nematic superconductivity; Topological Phases of Matter; Flat bands; Van Hove Singularity; Graphene; Twisted Bilayer Graphene; Rhombohedral graphite; Physics with spec. in Atomic; Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot atom- molekyl- och kondenserande materiens fysik;

    Abstract : We explore the connection between robust material platforms for superconductivity and the modern condensed matter physics paradigms of two-dimensional materials, topological states of matter, and odd-frequency superconductivity. Specifically, the recent discoveries of gapless topological matter and truly two-dimensional materials with graphene have greatly expanded the class of materials for which topology produces large, robust, even singular, density of states (DOS) peaks in the electronic structure that in turn are highly susceptible to new ordered states of matter, including superconductivity. 5. 5. Graphene Implementation Study in Semiconductor Processing

    Author : Patrik Ahlberg; Zhibin Zhang; Shi-Li Zhang; Ulf Jansson; Eleanor Campbell; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Graphene, with its two-dimensional nature and unique properties, has for over a decade captured enormous interests in both industry and academia. This work tries to answer the question of what would happen to graphene when it is subjected to various processing conditions and how this would affect the graphene functionality. READ MORE
