1. Studies of reactions occurring in the AUC-process : from UF₆ to sintered UO₂ pellets
Abstract : This study has been carried out to investigate the influence of process parameters upon the material characteristics during the conversion of UFg to UO2 powder, and the importance of variation in these charcteristics for the final quality of the sintered pellets. The first process step is a precipitation of ammonium uranyl carbonate (AUC) from UFg, ammonia and carbon dioxide. READ MORE

2. Laser sintered materials with Non-equilibrium structures
Abstract : This thesis is focused on achieving materials with non-equilibrium structures fabricated by high-energy laser sintering. The chosen precursor materials have rigid and inert structures like high-melting point ceramics or metals. READ MORE

3. High Performance Manufacture of Sintered Steel – Critical Aspects of Tooling Performance and Sintered Microstructure
Abstract : Steel is the dominant material for the production of structural parts. By means of powder metallurgy (PM) processing, manufacturers have been able to manufacture steel parts with appreciable dimensional accuracy and desirable mechanical properties. READ MORE

4. Spark Plasma Sintered 3Y-TZP/CNT composites
Abstract : Composites of 3 mol% yttria-doped tetragonal zirconia (3Y-TZP) reinforced with multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) up to 2 wt% have been produced using spark plasma sintering (SPS). The theoretical densities of the studied composites were found to be between 99.4 and 97.4 %. READ MORE

5. Processing of Nanostructured WC-Co Powders and Sintered Steels
Abstract : Processing of nanostructured WC-Co and W-Co powders, modelling of Fe-Mn-Si alloy, swelling of Fe-Cu alloy, andmechanical properties and sintering of Fe-Mn-Si steels havebeen studied in the present thesis.W-Co precursors made by chemical synthesis were used toproduce nanostructured WCCo and W-Co powders by calcination, reduction and carburization.
