  1. 1. Investigations of the Kinetics of Reduction and Reduction/Carburization of NiO-WO3 Precursors

    Author : Hesham M. Ahmed; Seshadri Seetharaman; Ricardo Morales Estrella; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Reduction; Reduction-Carburization; Gas-solid Reactions; Kinetics; Hydrogen; Methane; Thermogravimetric analysis; Fluidized bed; Simulation; Thermal diffusivity; Thermal conductivity; Laser flash; Metallurgical process engineering; Metallurgisk processteknik; Process Metallurgy;

    Abstract : Kinetic studies of reduction of the mixtures of NiO and WO3 having different Ni/(Ni+W) molar ratios in flowing hydrogen gas were investigated by means of Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), Fluidized Bed (FB) technique as well as Thermal diffusivity measurements under isothermal conditions. In the case of TGA, the reaction progress was monitored by mass loss, while evolved gas analysis by a gas chromatograph was the indicator of the reaction progress in the case of FB. READ MORE

  2. 2. Stormwater Ponds for Pollution Reduction

    Author : Thomas Pettersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; suspended solids; reduction; pollution; stormwater pond; flow modelling; FEM; field measurements; heavy metals; nutrients;

    Abstract : Stormwater transports particulate-bound and soluble pollution from urban areas to receiving waters during rain events. Measurements have shown that open detention ponds, originally used for flood control, effectively reduce stormwater pollutant load and have therefore been increasingly used for stormwater treatment. 3. 3. A study of micro-particles in the dust and melt at different stages of iron and steelmaking

    Author : Muhammad Nabeel; Andrey Karasev; Lauri Holappa; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Particle size distribution; ironmaking; iron ore pellets; dust generation; mechanical wear; friction; reduction; REM clusters; Electrolytic extraction; cluster size distribution; growth mechanism; collisions; statistical analysis.; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering; Metallurgical process science; Metallurgisk processvetenskap;

    Abstract : The dust particles generated due to mechanical wear of iron ore pellets and clusters formed in molten stainless steel alloyed with rare earth metals (REM) are considered in this study. Firstly, the influence of the characteristics of iron ore pellets, applied load on a pellet bed and partial reduction of the pellets on the size distribution of the generated dust was investigated. 4. 4. Reduction of Aerodynamic Forcing inTransonic Turbomachinery : Numerical Studies on Forcing Reduction Techniques

    Author : Florian Fruth; Torsten Fransson; Damian Vogt; Ronald Mailach; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Forced Response; Aerodynamic Forcing; Efficiency; Blade Count Ratio; Clocking;

    Abstract : Due to more and more aggressive designs in turbomachinery, assuring the structural integrity of its components has become challenging. Also influenced by this trend is blade design, where lighter and slimmer blades, in combination with higher loading, lead to an increased risk of failure, e.g. in the form of blade vibration. 5. 5. Cone Crusher Performance

    Author : Magnus Evertsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; mining; size-reduction; particle size; crushing; comminution; modelling; simulation; aggregates;

    Abstract : Cone crushers are used by both the aggregate producing and the mining industry. Both industries are interested in increasing the product quality while at the same time lowering the production costs. Prediction of crusher performance has been focused on, since crushing is a vital process for both industries. READ MORE
