6. Modelling Chemical Weathering in Different Scales
Abstract : Chemical weathering is one of the most important processes supporting life on Earth. Chemical weathering continuously contributes macronutrients and micronutrients to the soil solution. These recycling, essential elements are used as building blocks for all organic living matter. READ MORE

7. Modeling nutrient cycling and sustainable forest growth in a changing world
Abstract : It took 70-80 years to realize the width of the impact of industrialization on the forest ecosystems since a forest ecosystem is a "slow system" as seen from a human perspective. An anticipated future climate change and increasing carbon dioxide and ozone levels will change the conditions even more with time and the widely used statistical forest growth models will not be applicable anymore. 8. Regional Nutrient Budgets in Forest Soils in a Policy Perspective
Abstract : Sweden's forests are one of its most important natural resources, as well as being important from ecological and social perspectives. Nutrient sustainability is essential to maintain the production capacity and reduce the effects of acidification and eutrophication. READ MORE

9. Nutrient imbalance in Norway spruce
Abstract : The studies presented in my thesis indicate that growing Norway spruce in monoculture does not constitute sustainable forest management in a high N and S deposition environment, such as in southern Sweden. The combination of N-induced high growth rates and leaching due to soil acidification causes soil reserves of nutrients to decrease. READ MORE

10. Climate change adaptation processes : Regional and sectoral stakeholder perspectives
Abstract : This thesis analyses how societal adaptation processes in public and private sectors at the regional to local level in Sweden are enacted. The thesis pays particular attention to critical factors that constrain or enable adaptation by focussing on: who are the stakeholders, how do different stakeholders perceive their capacity to adapt, and the role of stakeholder interaction in facilitating adaptation processes A combination of two analytical perspectives is used where one is based on key concepts within adaptation literature, and the other draws on boundary crossing and transdisciplinary knowledge production (stakeholders, adaptive capacity, and science-based stakeholder dialogues).
