1. Oxidative regulation of NCF1 in B cells and mouse models of arthritis
Abstract : Autoimmune diseases (ADs) are chronic pathologies that result from a dysregulation of autoreactive B and T cells leading to autoantibody production and ultimately destruction of self. In paper I, we studied inflammation associated with autoimmunity. READ MORE

2. Antinuclear and antiphospholipid antibodies versus disease manifestations and clinical outcomes in systemic lupus erythematosus
Abstract : Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) has an exceptionally heterogeneous clinical spectrum, ranging from mild disease limited to skin and joints to severe manifestations with renal disorder, central nervous system disease, severe cytopenias and thromboembolic events. Important clinical challenges include the prediction of disease flares and the identification of individuals that are likely to evolve severe disease with accrual of organ damage and worse prognosis. 3. Immunological mechanisms in systemic autoimmunity : autoantibodies and chemokines in systemic lupus erythematosus and during treatment with TNF inhibitors in rheumatoid arthritis
Abstract : Background. Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune inflammatory disease that, without powerful treatment, may lead to irreversible joint damage. During the past decade, anti-cytokine therapy has become available, e.g. READ MORE

4. Studies on anti-dsDNA Antibodies and other potential biomarkers in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Abstract : Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is characterized by chronic inflammation involving many organ systems. The etiology is unknown and the pathogenesis has not been fully elucidated. Impairments of the immune system and of the mechanisms regulating cell death are commonly seen in SLE patients. READ MORE

5. Autoantibodies and the Type I Interferon System in the Etiopathogenesis of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Abstract : In sera remitted for anti-nuclear antibody (ANA) analysis, the supplement of a sensitive anti-SSA/Ro ELISA to the conventional ANA screening by immunofluorescence (IF) revealed that one fourth of the individuals with IF-ANA negative, but SSA/Ro ELISA positive sera, had systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) or cutaneous LE. Consequently, adding a sensitive anti-SSA/Ro ELISA to the ANA screening is valuable for the serological detection of ANA negative SLE/LE patients. READ MORE
