  1. 1. Slow propagation line-based superconducting devices for quantum technology

    Author : Astghik Adamyan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; superconducting transmission line; electron spin resonance; parametric amplifier; near field scanning microwave microscopy; tunable microstrip resonator;

    Abstract : In the field of circuit quantum electrodynamics (c-QED), the coherent interaction of two-level systems (TLSs) with photons, confined in a superconducting microwaveresonator, opens up new possibilities for quantum computing experiments.This thesis contributes to the expansion of c-QED tool-box with slow propagation line-based solutions for ubiquitous techniques, such as cryogenic Near Field Scanning Microwave Microscopy (NSMM), Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) spectroscopy and Traveling Wave Parametric Amplifier (TWPA). 2. 2. Silicon Nanoribbon FET Sensors : Fabrication, Surface Modification and Microfluidic Integration

    Author : Roodabeh Afrasiabi; Jan Linnros; Michel Calame; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Abstract : Over the past decade, the field of medical diagnostics has seen an incredible amount of research towards the integration of one-dimensional nanostructures such as carbon nanotubes, metallic and semiconducting nanowires and nanoribbons for a variety of bio-applications. Among the mentioned one-dimensional structures, silicon nanoribbon (SiNR) field-effect transistors (FET) as electro-chemical nanosensors hold particular promise for label-free, real-time and sensitive detection of biomolecules using affinity-based detection. 3. 3. Platinum-Based Nanocatalysts for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells

    Author : Björn Lönn; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fuel cells; Sputtering onto liquids; Pt-RE nanocatalysts;

    Abstract : Fuel cells have potential to become an integral technology in a future sustainable energy system. For transport applications, the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is the most promising option, exhibiting light weight and high energy density. READ MORE

  4. 4. Aerosol Metal Nanoparticles and their Role in Particle-Assisted Growth of III–V Nanowires

    Author : Robert Hallberg; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; aerosol formation; III–V semiconductor materials; catalyst particles; Palladium nanoparticles; Gold nanoparticles; Spark discharge generation; MOVPE; MOCVD; Transmission electron microscopy TEM ; Phase stability; Nanoparticle deposition; Nanoparticle generation; nanoparticles characterization; Nanowire NW ; Nanowire growth;

    Abstract : Semiconductor nanowires have properties that make them potentially useful for applications in future electronic, photovoltaic, and optoelectronic devices. A powerful nanowire fabrication technique is the use of a nanoparticle as a preferential nucleation site, from which a nanowire grows. READ MORE
