    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Detached houses; Energy-efficiency renovations; Homeowners; Onestop-shop; Policy instruments; Renovation decisions; Supply-side actors; Transaction costs; Småhus; Energirenoveringar; Husägare; One-stop-shop; Policyinstrument; Renoveringsbeslut; Aktörer på utbudssidan; Transaktionskostnader; Byggteknik; Civil engineering; Sustainable Built Environment; Hållbar byggd miljö;

    Abstract : The building sector is the biggest energy user in the European Union (EU) and therefore, has an important role to play in meeting the energy and climate goals ofEU. In Sweden, more than 80% of the two million detached houses are more than 35 years of age. Energy efficiency renovation of those old houses can reduce primaryenergy use by 65% to 90%. READ MORE

  2. 2. Combined solar and pellet heating systems for single-family houses : How to achieve decreased electricity usage, increased system efficiency and increased solar gains

    Author : Tomas Persson; Per Lundqvist; Simon Furbo; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Pellet; pelleteldning; kamin; panna; solvärmesystem; varmvattenberedning; systemutformning; småhus; elbesparing; verkningsgrad; emissioner; rökgasförluster; skorstensförlust; diskmaskin; tvättmaskin; Thermal energy engineering;

    Abstract : In Sweden, there are about 0.5 million single-family houses that are heated by electricity alone, and rising electricity costs force the conversion to other heating sources such as heat pumps and wood pellet heating systems. Pellet heating systems for single-family houses are currently a strongly growing market. READ MORE

  3. 3. What have residents got to do with it? : Variations in energy use and energy-related behaviours in single-family houses

    Author : Carolina Hiller; Jesper Arfvidsson; Thorbjörn Laike; Avdelningen för Byggnadsfysik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; energy use variations; energy-related behaviour; single-family houses; households; residents; multi-disciplinary; field measurements; times-use diaries; energy use over time; load curves; power peaks; energy measurements; residential houses;

    Abstract : To achieve global energy goals, energy use in residential buildings must decrease. The implementation of technical measures is crucial but alone it is not sufficient; residents need to change their behaviour as well. READ MORE

  4. 4. Modeling and Simulation of Electricity Consumption Profiles in the Northern European Building Stock

    Abstract : The electric power systems are currently being transformed through the integration of intermittent renewable energy resources and new types of electric loads. These developments run the risk of increasing mismatches between electricity supply and demand, and may cause non-favorable utilization rates of some power system components. READ MORE

  5. 5. Energy Efficient Window Systems. Effects on Energy Use and Daylight in Buildings

    Author : Helena Bülow-Hübe; Avdelningen för Energi och byggnadsdesign; []
