1. Assembling the Smart Grid : On the Mobilization of Imaginaries, Users and Materialities in a Swedish Demonstration Project
Abstract : Influential actors refer to smart grids as a revamped version of the energy systemwhen they argue for alternative energy pathways, and assign demonstration projects with the task of turning prospects about the future into functional configurations. This thesis explores notions of the smart grid future that are implicitly conveyed in Swedish smart grid strategy and planning documents. READ MORE

2. Conjugated Polymer-based Conductive Fibers for Smart Textile Applications
Abstract : Electrically conductive or electro-active fibers are the key components of smart and interactive textiles, which could be used in medical, sports, energy, and military applications in the near future. The functionalization of high-performance textile yarns/fibers with conjugated polymers can produce conductive fibers with better electro-mechanical properties, which is difficult with commonly used spinning techniques. 3. Mesoporous material systems for catalysis and drug delivery
Abstract : Hybrid material systems possess multi-functional properties which make them intriguing for the materials science community since very early dates. However, it is not straightforward to produce such material systems. A smart and efficient approach is necessary to extract the desired properties of each component under the desired conditions. 4. Predicting Electrochromic Smart Window Performance
Abstract : The building sector is one of the largest consumers of energy, where the cooling of buildings accounts for a large portion of the total energy consumption. Electrochromic (EC) smart windows have a great potential for increasing indoor comfort and saving large amounts of energy for buildings. READ MORE

5. Components of smart windows : Investigations of electrochromic films, transparent counter electrodes and sputtering techniques
Abstract : In smart windows, the transmittance of visible and near infrared radiation can be reversibly and persistently modulatcd by an applied voltage pulse (~2 V). The micrometer-thick multi-layer structure contains two electrodes capable of charge insertion. One of these electrodes must be electrochromic; usually it consists of tungsten oxide. READ MORE
