  1. 11. Designing dynamic textile patterns

    Author : Linda Worbin; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; smart textiles; textile design; dynamic textile patterns;

    Abstract : Designing Dynamic Textile Patterns Progress in chemistry, fibres and polymers technology provides textile designers with new expressive materials, making it possible to design dynamic textile patterns, where several different expressions are inherent in the same textile, textiles that, for example, could alternate between a striped and checkered pattern. Textiles are traditionally designed and produced to keep a given, static expression during their life cycle; a striped pattern is supposed to keep its stripes. READ MORE

  2. 12. Conjugated Polymer-based Conductive Fibers for Smart Textile Applications

    Author : Tariq Bashir; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electro-active fibers; poly 3; 4-ethylenedioxythiophene PEDOT ; viscose; polyester; chemical vapor deposition CVD process; electrical characterizations; smart textiles; stretch sensor; Organic Electronics; Smart Textiles; textile yarns; Textiles and Fashion General ; Textil och mode generell ;

    Abstract : Electrically conductive or electro-active fibers are the key components of smart and interactive textiles, which could be used in medical, sports, energy, and military applications in the near future. The functionalization of high-performance textile yarns/fibers with conjugated polymers can produce conductive fibers with better electro-mechanical properties, which is difficult with commonly used spinning techniques. 3. 13. Textile influence : exploring the role of textiles in the product design process

    Author : Linnéa Nilsson; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Textiles; fashion; Textiles and Fashion General ; Textil och mode generell ;

    Abstract : Textile materials and textile design are a part of countless products in our surroundings, as well as of diverse design fields and industries, with very different material traditions and working methods. Textile materials and industry have undergone many changes during recent decades, in terms of how and where textiles are produced, and what textiles can be and do; in much the same way, the design practices that textiles are involved in have also developed. Abstract : This thesis, written by Ingrid Öberg Månsson at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and entitled “Electroanalytical devices with fluidic control using textile materials and methods”, presents experimental studies on the development of textile based electronic devices and biosensors. One of the reasons why this is of interest is the growing demand for integrated smart products for wearable health monitoring or energy harvesting. READ MORE

  5. 15. Studies of electrically conductive textile coatings with PEDOT:PSS

    Author : Maria Åkerfeldt; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; textile coating; conductive coating; conjugated polymers; coating parameters; PEDOT:PSS; Textile technology; Textiles and Fashion General ; Textil och mode generell ;

    Abstract : This study investigates electrically conductive coatings of textiles, obtained with a direct coating and the addition of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) dispersion to a thickened polyurethane (PU)-based formulation. Textiles with enhanced electrical conductivity have potential applications in antistatic, electrostatic discharge protective, electromagnetic interference shielding, sensoric and temperature-regulating products.
