    Abstract : The thesis contains the four chapters: Testing parameter constancy in unit root autoregressive models against continuous change; Dickey-Fuller type of tests against nonlinear dynamic models; Inference for unit roots in a panel smooth transition autoregressive model where the time dimension is fixed; Testing unit roots in nonlinear dynamic heterogeneous panels. In Chapter 1 we derive tests for parameter constancy when the data generating process is non-stationary against the hypothesis that the parameters of the model change smoothly over time. READ MORE

    Abstract : The aim of the present study was to elucidate mechanisms involved in liver fibrogenesis, the wound healing response of the liver to chronic injury. A role for TNF-[alpha] and all three isoforms of TGF-[beta] in the pathogenesis of hepatitis C related liver disease was suggested by the finding of increased expression of TGF-[beta]1-3, latent TGF-[beta] binding protein (LTBP), and TNF-[alpha] by immunohistochemistry in areas of inflammation and fibrosis in liver tissue from untreated patients with hepatitis C.     Abstract : We report on smooth high quality c-axis orientedNdBa2Cu3O7-δ (NBCO) superconducting thin filmsgrown on (001) SrTiO3 substrates using pulsed laser deposition.The transition temperature of these NBCO films was around 89.5 Kand the root-mean-square (RMS) surface roughness was 0.75 nm for150 nm thick films.
