16. Nonparametric Functional Estimation under Order Restrictions
Abstract : This thesis consists of three papers (Papers A-C) on problems in nonparametric functional estimation, in particular density and regression function estimation and deconvolution, under order assumptions. Pointwise limit distribution results are stated for the obtained estimators, which include isotonic regression estimates, nonparametric maximum likelihood estimates of monotone densities, estimates of convex regression and density functions and deconvolution estimates. 17. A convex optimization approach to complexity constrained analytic interpolation with applications to ARMA estimation and robust control
Abstract : Analytical interpolation theory has several applications in systems and control. In particular, solutions of low degree, or more generally of low complexity, are of special interest since they allow for synthesis of simpler systems. READ MORE

18. Regularity and uniqueness-related properties of solutions with respect to locally integrable structures
Abstract : We prove that a smooth generic embedded CR submanifold of C^n obeys the maximum principle for continuous CR functions if and only if it is weakly 1-concave. The proof of the maximum principle in the original manuscript has later been generalized to embedded weakly q-concave CR submanifolds of certain complex manifolds. READ MORE

19. The Maximum Principle for Cauchy-Riemann Functions and Hypocomplexity
Abstract : This licentiate thesis contains results on the maximum principle forCauchy–Riemann functions (CR functions) on weakly 1-concave CRmanifolds and hypocomplexity of locally integrable structures. Themaximum principle does not hold true in general for smooth CR functions, and basic counterexamples can be constructed in the presenceof strictly pseudoconvex points. READ MORE

20. Polymer-coated paper and board - Role of substrate, polymer characteristics and additives
Abstract : The surface roughness of paper or board has a significant influence on the homogeneity of an applied polymer film, and this thesis discusses how it may be improved by a surface treatment, e.g. high-temperature calendering or precoating. READ MORE
