  1. 1. From Antagonism to Alienation : Redirecting Radical Democracy

    Author : Sofia Helander; Sofia Näsström; Bo Bengtsson; Alexandra Segerberg; Mikael Carleheden; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; political theory; social theory; democratic theory; critical theory; radical democracy; agonistic democracy; alienation; precarity; Statskunskap; Political Science;

    Abstract : How can democratic theory address contemporary problems of alienation? Today, alienation manifests itself primarily in processes of precarization and deprofessionalization. When the subject’s work security or professional autonomy is undermined, her relations – not only to others, but also to herself – can become inhibited. READ MORE

  2. 2. Regulation of epithelial morphogenesis in Drosophila by the Emp scavenger receptor

    Author : Ana Sofia Pinheiro; Christos Samakovlis; Sofia Araújo; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Emp; scavenger receptor; CD36; cytoskeleton; Src kinase; Diap; DrICE; Hipo Yki; endocytosis; Drosophila; airways; molekylär biovetenskap; Molecular Bioscience;

    Abstract : The respiratory system of Drosophila melanogaster, the trachea, is widely used as a model system to study the development of branched tubular organs. Airway maturation in Drosophila entails a series of sequential events: first, a massive apical secretion of luminal proteins initiates diametric tube expansion, second an endocytic wave removes luminal proteins and finally liquid clearance and gas filling converts the nascent epithelial tubes to a functional respiratory organ. 3. 3. Modelling carbon uptake in Nordic forest landscapes using remote sensing

    Author : Sofia Junttila; BECC: Biodiversity and Ecosystem services in a Changing Climate; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; forest; peatland; boreal region; remote sensing; carbon exchange; gross primary production; CO2; climate change; Sentinel-2;

    Abstract : Boreal forests and peatlands store over 30% of the global terrestrial carbon in their vegetation and soil. but changing climate can compromise the current carbon stock. READ MORE
