    Abstract : This thesis studied the viability of recycling filter substrates as soil amendments after being used in on-site systems for phosphorus (P) removal from wastewater. Focus was put on the materials Filtra P and Polonite, which are commercial products used in compact filters in Sweden. READ MORE

  2. 2. Influence of water conditions on growth and mineral nutrient uptake of native plants on clacareous soil

    Author : Aparna Misra; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; agricultural hydrology; Lantbrukshydrologi; marklära; Växtekologi; Plant ecology; wet growing; wet dry cycles; soil solution; soil moisture; pH; nutrient poor soil; mineral nutrients; dry growing; Bicarbonate; calicole; Soil Science;

    Abstract : The studies presented in Papers I to IV illustrate the importance of soil moisture in soil solution chemistry and response of native plants to the changes induced by change in moisture regime. With the help of glasshouse experiments I tried to study the influence of different treatments of soil moisture conditions on the mineral uptake by native plants of calcareous soil. READ MORE

  5. 5. Electroremediation of contaminated soil

    Author : Pascal Suèr; Bert Allard; Lisbeth M. Ottosen; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; electrokinetic remediation; contaminated soil; mercury; heavy metals; organic compounds; Chemistry; Kemi; Enviromental Science; Miljövetenskap;

    Abstract : Electroremediation was applied to contaminated soils in order to study the transport of metals and organic compounds by the external electric field. The electric field caused acidic conditions near the anode, so that copper, zinc, lead, nickel, cadmium, calcium and manganese were released from soil from a chlor-alkali site. READ MORE
