1. Exploring the Role of Business Models in Large-Scale Diffusion of Solar Photovoltaics - A study of demand-side solar firms in Sweden
Abstract : A rapid and large-scale diffusion of renewable energy technologies, like solar photovoltaics (PV), is crucial to slow down climate change. Research on technology diffusion explains that the rate and scale at which a new technology diffuses in society is influenced by the actors, networks, and institutions that make up its innovation system. 2. Photoelectrochemical studies of dye-sensitized solar cells using organic dyes
Abstract : The dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC) is a promising efficient low-cost molecular photovoltaic device. One of the key components in DSCs is the dye, as it is responsible for the capture of sunlight. State-of-the-art DSC devices, based on ruthenium dyes, show record efficiencies of 10-12 %. READ MORE

3. Reducing Carbon Emissions From Natural Gas-fired Power Plants – Biomass, Concentrated Solar and Carbon Capture
Abstract : In this thesis, possibilities to reduce emissions from combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plants are evaluated. The evaluation is done from two perspectives: techno-economic analysis, and analysis of the resource and integration potentials. READ MORE

4. Excited State Processes in Solar Energy Materials
Abstract : This dissertation covers studies of excited state processes in two types of solar energy materials: alternating polyfluorene polymers and their blends with fullerenes in the active layer of plastic solar cells, and bis-tridentate RuII-polypyridyl complexes to be used as sensitizer in systems for artificial photosynthesis. The polymer:fullerene blends were studied by transient absorption and time-resolved fluorescence measurements in order to investigate the role of the charge transfer (CT) state in charge formation. 5. Nanoparticle plasmon influence on the charge carrier generation in solar cells
Abstract : Global warming is a potential threat to life on earth and to human society. It is by much evidence linked to the extensive use of fossil fuels in our present energy system. Replacing the fossil fuels by alternative sources of energy poses a tremendous challenge for mankind, but is not at all undoable. READ MORE
