  1. 11. Optical Efficiency of Low-Concentrating Solar Energy Systems with Parabolic Reflectors

    Author : Maria Brogren; Arne Roos; Björn Karlsson; Andreas Häberle; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Engineering physics; Photovoltaic cells; Photovoltaic-thermal systems; Parabolic reflectors; Optical properties; Reflector materials; Optical efficiency; Accelerated ageing; Outdoor ageing; Building-integrated photovoltaics; Teknisk fysik; Engineering physics; Teknisk fysik;

    Abstract : Solar electricity is a promising energy technology for the future, and by using reflectors for concentrating solar radiation onto photovoltaic cells, the cost per produced kWh can be significantly reduced. The optical efficiency of a concentrating system determines the fraction of the incident energy that is transferred to the cells and depends on the optical properties of the system components. 2. 12. The Struggles of Light Bound in Matter : Modelling Optical Excitations in Nanostructures

    Author : Alex Arash Sand Kalaee; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; open quantum systems; nanooptics; non-equilibrium statistical mechanics; quantum thermodynamics; Fysicumarkivet A:2021:Kalaee;

    Abstract : This thesis addresses three different topics on the interaction between light and matter in open quantum systems. The first topic concerns two-dimensional spectroscopy and the spectral contributions from different nonlinear action signals with a focus on how to differentiate between them. READ MORE

  3. 13. Preparation and optical characterisation of antireflection coatingsand reflector materials for solar energy systems

    Author : Per Nostell; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Solid State Physics; fasta tillståndets fysik;

    Abstract : An angle-resolved scatterometer and an integrating sphere for reflectance measurements at oblique angles of incidence have been designed and evaluated. The integrating sphere has a centre-mounted sample holder and the detector sits at the end of the sample holder and therefore always faces the same sphere wall area. READ MORE

    Abstract : Energy from solar photovoltaic (PV) are generated as direct current (DC) and almost all of today’s electrical loads in residential buildings, household appliances and HVAC system (Heating Ventilation and Air-conditioning) are operated on DC. For a conventional alternating current (AC) distribution system this requires the need for multiple conversion steps before the final user-stage. READ MORE
