  1. 1. Solar Colletors Combined with Ground-Source Heat Pumps in Dwellings - Analyses of System Performance

    Author : Elisabeth Kjellsson; Avdelningen för Byggnadsfysik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; heating in dwellings; TRNSYS simulations; solar collectors; ground-source heat pumps; ground heat;

    Abstract : The use of ground-source heat pumps for heating buildings and domestic hot water in dwellings is increasing rapidly in Sweden. The heat pump extracts heat from the ground by a U-pipe in a vertical borehole. In order to reduce the electricity demand in the system, the combination with solar collectors is introduced. 2. 2. Life performance assessment methodologies for combined solar energy technologies : a case study on system parts in nordic climates

    Author : Bojan Stojanovic; Christer Sjöström; Björn Karlsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; life performance; assessment; combined solar energy technologies; degradation; component and system performance; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik; Materials science;

    Abstract : The main questions concerning energy technologies today are their economical and environmental impacts. These entities are (at the present) assessed on the basis that operations proceed as newly installed/designed systems, during an assumed working life period. READ MORE

  3. 3. Solar integrated heating systems: Applications in buildings and industries

    Author : Puneet Kumar Saini; Joakim Widén; Xingxing Zhang; Frank Fiedler; Thomas Olofsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Solar heating systems; Renewable heating systems; Decarbonization; Solar thermal; Techno-economic analysis; Thermal energy storage.; Engineering Science with specialization in Civil Engineering and Built Environment; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot byggteknik och byggd miljö;

    Abstract : “Heat is half” of the global final energy consumption, and the decarbonization of the heating sector is critical to achieving climate goals. This thesis employs a system modelling approach to evaluate renewable heating systems. READ MORE

  4. 4. Combined solar and pellet heating systems for single-family houses : How to achieve decreased electricity usage, increased system efficiency and increased solar gains

    Author : Tomas Persson; Per Lundqvist; Simon Furbo; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Pellet; pelleteldning; kamin; panna; solvärmesystem; varmvattenberedning; systemutformning; småhus; elbesparing; verkningsgrad; emissioner; rökgasförluster; skorstensförlust; diskmaskin; tvättmaskin; Thermal energy engineering;

    Abstract : In Sweden, there are about 0.5 million single-family houses that are heated by electricity alone, and rising electricity costs force the conversion to other heating sources such as heat pumps and wood pellet heating systems. Pellet heating systems for single-family houses are currently a strongly growing market. READ MORE

  5. 5. Reducing Carbon Emissions From Natural Gas-fired Power Plants – Biomass, Concentrated Solar and Carbon Capture

    Author : Erik Pihl; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
