  1. 1. Solid-phase glycoconjugate synthesis : on-resin analysis with gel-phase ¹9F NMR spectroscopy

    Author : Mickael Mogemark; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; Solid-phase synthesis; protective groups; linkers; monitoring; gel-phase; 19F NMR spectroscopy; carbohydrates; oligosaccharides; glycopeptides; Organisk kemi; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : An efficient and versatile non-destructive method to analyze the progress of solid-phase glycoconjugate synthesis with gel-phase 19F NMR spectroscopy is described. The method relies on use of fluorinated linkers and building blocks carrying fluorinated protective groups. READ MORE

    Abstract : Perovskite based materials have great potentials for various energy applications and the search for new materials for uses in SOFCs has largely been concentrated to this class of compounds. In this search, we have studied perovskite phases in the system La2Co1+z(Ti1-xMgx)1-zO6, with 0  x 0.9 and z = 0.0, 0. READ MORE

  3. 3. Theoretical Studies of Natural Gas Hydrates and H-bonded Clusters and Crystals

    Author : Yuan Liu; Lars Ojamäe; Per-Olov Käll; Ben Slater; Linköpings universitet; []

    Abstract : In this thesis H-bonded systems (natural gas hydrates, water clusters, and crystal ice) are studied by density functional theory (DFT) computations.Natural gas hydrates (NGHs) play an important role in energy and environmental fields: NGHs are considered as a promising backup energy resource in the near-future due to their tremendous carbon content; improper exploration of NGHs could induce geological disasters and aggravate the greenhouse effect. 4. 4. Design of carbide-based nanocomposite coatings

    Author : Erik Lewin; Ulf Jansson; Jörg Patscheider; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; chemistry; thin film; dc magnetron sputtering; carbide; nanocomposite; PVD; solid solution; Chemistry; Kemi; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi; Inorganic Chemistry; Oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : In this thesis research on synthesis, microstructure and properties of carbide-based coatings is reported. These coatings are electrically conducting, and can be tailored for high hardness, low friction and wear, along with load-adaptive behaviour. Tailoring these properties is achieved by controlling the relative phase content of the material. READ MORE

  5. 5. Glycoconjugates : Solid-phase synthesis and biological applications

    Author : Fredrik Wallner; Mikael Elofsson; Jan Kihlberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Glycoconjugate; Glycolipid; Solid-phase synthesis; Glycosylation; Gel-phase 19F-NMR spectroscopy; Fluorinated linker; Carbohydrat array; CD1; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : Glycoconjugates are biologically important molecules with diverse functions. They consist of carbohydrates of varying size and complexity, attached to a non-sugar moiety as a lipid or a protein. Glycoconjugate structures are often very complex and their intricate biosynthetic pathways makes overexpression difficult. READ MORE
