  1. 1. Lipases at Solid Surfaces An Adsorption and Activity Study

    University dissertation from Food Technology, Lund University

    Author : Kristin Wannerberger; [1996]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; surfactants; surface wettability; solid surfaces; activity; adsorption; Ellipsometry; lipase; Food and drink technology; Livsmedelsteknik;

    Abstract : The adsorption of lipases to solid surfaces was studied by means of in situ ellipsometry. In addition, the activities of the adsorbed lipases were measured in situ, by the hydrolysis of p-nitro phenyl acetate. Adsorption was made to methylated silica surfaces with varying degree of wettability as well as to clean silica surfaces. READ MORE

  3. 3. Infrared and Photoelectron Spectroscopic Studies of Adsorbates on Solid Surfaces: Experiments and DFT Calculations

    University dissertation from Chemical Physics, Lund University

    Author : Jakob Blomquist; [2007]

    Abstract : In general, the more complex and real a system is, with all its interactions with solvents and contaminations etc., the harder it is to accurately model it and reproduce the experimental results by calculations. READ MORE

  4. 4. Immobilization and Interaction of Biomolecules at the Solid-Liquid Interface : Applications to Solid-Phase Analytical Techniques

    University dissertation from Linköping, Sweden : Department of Physics and Measurement Technology

    Author : Ulf Jönsson; [1986]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Protein immobilization; silica; Immunoglobulins; Protein A; Fibronectin; chemical-vapour deposition; silane; ellipsometry; radiolabeling; contact-angle measurement; solid-phase analytical techniques;

    Abstract : The development of solid-phase-analytical techniques based on surface-concentration-measuring devices requires a stable and reproducible immobilization of biomolecules on well-characterized solid surfaces. This study reports on the immobilization of Immunoglobulin G, Protein A and Fibronectin on chemically modified silica surfaces. READ MORE

  5. 5. Dynamics of Enzymes at Interfaces Lipase adsorption and mobility on solid surfaces

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Andreas Sonesson; Hjalmar Brismar; Robert Tilton; [2007]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; biophysics; surface chemistry; diffusion; enzymes; lipases; adsorption; mobility; NATURAL SCIENCES Physics; NATURVETENSKAP Fysik;

    Abstract : This thesis aimed to give more insight in the dynamics of enzymes at interfaces. The adsorption and mobility of adsorbed proteins can e.g. give a better understanding of structure-function properties of interfacially active enzymes. READ MORE
