2. Diluent and Solvent Effects in Liquid-Liquid Extraction Systems based on bis-triazine-bipyrididine (BTBP)-class Ligands
Abstract : Used nuclear fuel taken directly from a reactor is radiotoxic for mankind and its environment for a long time. One of the major contributions to the long time radiotoxicity is the presence of a group of elements called the actinides. READ MORE

3. Theoretical Actinide Chemistry – Methods and Models
Abstract : The chemistry of actinides in aqueous solution is important, and it is essential to build adequate conceptual models and develop methods applicable for actinide systems. The complex electronic structure makes benchmarking necessary. READ MORE

4. Can Bone Void Fillers Carry Load? : Behaviour of Calcium Phosphate Cements Under Different Loading Scenarios
Abstract : Calcium phosphate cements (CPCs) are used as bone void fillers and as complements to hardware in fracture fixation. The aim of this thesis was to investigate the possibilities and limitations of the CPCs’ mechanical properties, and find out if these ceramic bone cements can carry application-specific loads, alone or as part of a construct. 5. Dynamics of Polymer Adsorption onto Solid Surfaces in Good Solvent
Abstract : Adsorption dynamics of various types of uncharged homopolymers onto solid surfaces in good solvent have been studied by using a coarse grained bead-spring model. Brownian dynamics simulation has been used to examine the adsorption process for polymers released near an adsorbing surface, and Monte Carlo simulations have been employed to explore equilibrium properties of adsorbed polymers.
