  1. 21. Simplified Routines for Sample Preparation and Analysis of Chemical Warfare Agent Degradation Products

    Author : Raja Subramaniam; Calle Nilsson; Paula Vanninen; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nerve agents; Alkyl alkylphosphonic acids; Solid phase derivatization; Fluorinated diazomethane reagent; High-energy collision induced dissociation; CID MS MS library; analytisk kemi; Analytical Chemistry;

    Abstract : The thesis describes the development of new and improved methods for analyzing degradation markers from organophosphorus Chemical Warfare Agents (CWAs). Paper I and II describes an innovative and significantly improved method for the enrichment, derivatization (trimethysilylation) and GC-MS analysis of a broad range of organophosphorus CWAs degradation markers, namely the alkylphosphonic acids and a zwitterionic compound. 2. 22. Stabilization remediation of soils contaminated with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs)

    Author : Mattias Sörengård; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are a major global concern in pollution of drinking water sources and aquatic environments. Due to the high persistence and mobility of these compounds, remediation methods for PFAS-contaminated soils are urgently needed to protect the surrounding environment and drinking water source areas. 3. 23. Cellulose Nanofibril-based Hybrid Materials : Eco-friendly design towards separation and packaging applications

    Author : Luis Valencia; Aji Mathew; Olli Ikkala; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cellulose nanofibrils; hybrid materials; membranes; aerogels; separation; food packaging; Materials Chemistry; materialkemi;

    Abstract : Nanocellulose has been lately considered as the “Holy-Grail” in the design of sustainable materials due to its bio-origin and an unprecedented combination of prominent features, including good mechanical properties, anisotropy and versatile surface chemistry. In addition, nanocellulose in the form of cellulose nanofibrils, can adopt variable structures and morphologies depending on the processing technique, such as aerogels, films and monoliths.
