21. Structural Dynamics of Glass-Forming Liquids
Abstract : Neutron and light scattering experiments on glass-forming liquids, an oxide network, a polymeric system and a polymeric electrolyte, were performed. The network glass-former B2O3 was investigated from 60 - 1300 K. The experimental results were interpreted using mode coupling theory and the soft potential model. READ MORE

22. Effects of forest fire smoke and volcanism on the stratospheric aerosol
Abstract : This thesis explores the stratospheric aerosol through both in-situ measurements and remote sensing. The background stratospheric aerosol is complex and is perturbed by injections of forest fire smoke particles and by particles formed from volcanic SO2. READ MORE

23. Collective Electron Dynamics in Mesoscopic Systems
Abstract : This work is devoted to a theoretical investigation of collective electron dynamics in low dimensional materials and mesoscopic structures. A common feature of these studies is the focus on the properties of the low energy dynamics of conduction electrons. One class of studied materials is the high-Tc superconductor Nd2CuO4 and related compounds. READ MORE

24. Multiphase flow measurements using ultrasound
Abstract : In process industries such as for example the oil and gas industry, the paper pulp industry, and the mining industry, multiphase flows are common. It is often of interest to measure the mass fractions of the different phases. READ MORE

25. Effects of Dark Matter in Astrophysical Systems
Abstract : When studying astrophysical structures with sizes ranging from dwarf galaxies to galaxy clusters, it becomes clear that there are vast amounts of unobservable gravitating mass. A compelling hypothesis is that this missing mass, which we call dark matter, consists of elementary particles that can be described in the same manner as those of the standard model of particle physics.
