21. Nonlinear Beam Physics
Abstract : A condensed treatment of conventional beam physics (both linear and nonlinear) is given for the non-expert; this constitutes a minimum knowhow for constructing simulations of rudimentary beamlines. The criteria for an ideal nonlinear charged-particle simulation algorithm are then presented, leading to the derivation of a symplectic, explicit, Lorentz-covariant integrator. READ MORE

22. The Visible and the Invisible : Color Contrast Phenomena in Space
Abstract : This study deals with the changes in color that arise in space, primarily simultaneous contrast in three dimensions. The typical account of simultaneous contrast is that the contrast phenomenon occurs between two or more color surfaces seen together, thus affecting one another. READ MORE

23. Measurement and Analysis of Partial Discharges at Semi-Square Voltages
Abstract : Insulation is today being exposed to voltages having considerably higher frequency components than the conventional power frequency AC 50 Hz or 60 Hz, for example in motors supplied by adjustable speed drives based on pulse width modulated converters. This has in many cases caused unexpected behaviour of the insulation systems. READ MORE

24. Characterization of Conduction and Polarization Properties of HVDC Cable XLPE Insulation Materials
Abstract : Since its first introduction in 1998, extruded direct current (DC) cable technology has been growing rapidly leading to many cable system installations with operation voltages up to 320 kV. Cable manufacturers invest heavily on technology development in this field and today extruded DC cable systems for operation voltages as high as 525 kV are commercially available. READ MORE

25. Characterization of Conduction and Polarization Properties of HVDC Cable XLPE Insulation Materials
Abstract : High voltage direct current (HVDC) cables with extruded insulation system were introduced in 1998. Since then this technology has been growing rapidly with many installations that are today operational at voltages up to 320 kV. READ MORE
