6. Fading Channels: Capacity and Channel Coding Rate in the Finite-Blocklength Regime
Abstract : Information-theoretic studies on the fundamental limits of communication over wireless fading channels typically rely on simplifying assumptions, such as perfect channel state information (CSI), infinite blocklength, and vanishing probability of error. Although these assumptions are reasonable for most of the current wireless communication systems, they may be inaccurate for next-generation wireless systems. READ MORE

7. Bounds on the maximum coding rate of multiple-access channels and feedback channels
Abstract : We provide upper and lower bounds on the coding rate of multiple-access channels (MACs) and feedback channels.Traditional MACs have been extensively studied under the assumption of availability of perfect channel state information (CSI).In Paper A we relax this assumption for a Rayleigh block-fading MAC and provide bounds on the sum-rate capacity. 8. Aspects of Massive MIMO
Abstract : Next generation cellular wireless technology faces tough demands: increasing the throughput and reliability without consuming more resources, be it spectrum or energy. Massive mimo (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) has proven, both in theory and practice, that it is up for the challenge. READ MORE

9. On MIMO Systems and Adaptive Arrays for Wireless Communication : Analysis and Practical Aspects
Abstract : This thesis is concerned with the use of multiple antenna elements in wireless communication over frequency non-selective radio channels. Both measurement results and theoretical analysis are presented. New transmit strategies are derived and compared to existing transmit strategies, such as beamforming and space-time block coding (STBC). READ MORE

10. Adaptation in multiple input multiple output systems with channel state information at transmitter
Abstract : This thesis comprises two parts: the first part presents channel-adaptive techniques to achieve high spectral efficiency in a single user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system; the second part exhibits a programmable and reconfigurable software-defined-radio orkbench(SDR-WB) in the Matlab/Octave environment that accommodates a variety of wireless applications. In an attempt to achieve high spectral efficiency, an adaptive modulation technique is applied at the transmitter to vary the data rate depending on the channel state information (CSI). READ MORE
