1. Space-Time Algorithms for Mobile Communications
Abstract : Algorithms are presented for space-time signal processing in mobile communication systems employing base station antenna arrays. Two main issues are concerned. Reception of data transmitted on the uplink (mobile to base station transmission), and estimation of the parameters of the space-time mobile channel. READ MORE

2. Space-Time Prediction of Ocean Winds
Abstract : The topic of this thesis is inspired by an experiment in which a vessel, laying a submarine cable, was provided with forecasts overlaid with satellite observations of significant wave height. During the operation, the vessel was close to an adverse weather area and the personnel on board could confirm that the forecast was not as close to the "ground truth" as the satellite observation was. 3. Designing Space-Time Codes Using Orthogonal Designs
Abstract : This thesis deals with coding schemes for systems with multiple transmit antennas. The problem of finding optimal transmission schemes for the case when the transmitter knows the channel and the case when the transmitter does not know the channel are considered. READ MORE

4. Finding a place for green politics : political space-time, globalisation and new environmental policy concepts
Abstract : The overarching aim of this dissertation is to rethink green ideas for change in political space-time against the background of globalisation. It is based on two avenues of investigation. First, green ideas are contrasted with the analyses of current changes in political space-time found in the globalisation literature. READ MORE

5. Space-Time Processing Applications for Wireless Communications
Abstract : Wireless mobile communication networks are rapidly growing at an incredible rate around the world and a number of improved and emerging technologies are seen to be critical to the improved economics and performance of these networks. The technical revolution and continuing growth of mobile radio communication systems has been made possible by extraordinary advances in the related fields of digital computing, high-speed circuit technology, the Internet and, of course, digital signal processing.
