    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Real Estate Economics and Finance; Hedonic regression; Spatial econometrics; Residential market; Housing index; GARCH; Volatility forecasting; COVID-19; Value-at-Risk; Extreme Value Theory; Fastighetsekonomi och finans; Hedonisk regression; Spatial ekonometri; Bostadsmarknad; Bostadsindex; GARCH; Volatilitetsprognoser; COVID-19; Value-at-Risk; Extreme Value Theory; Fastigheter och byggande; Real Estate and Construction Management;

    Abstract : This doctoral thesis is a collection of four essays that utilize cross-sectional and time-series econometric methods in real estate economics and finance. The first two essays apply econometric modeling to the residential market focusing on hedonic regression analysis, while the other two essays apply financial econometric modeling on an index of listed real estate stocks, and house price index indices. 2. 2. Dynamics of ecological communities in variable environments : local and spatial processes

    Author : Linda Kaneryd; Bo Ebenman; Peter Münger; Michael S. Fowler; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The ecosystems of the world are currently facing a variety of anthropogenic perturbations, such as climate change, fragmentation and destruction of habitat, overexploitation of natural resources and invasions of alien species. How the ecosystems will be affected is not only dependent on the direct effects of the perturbations on individual species but also on the trophic structure and interaction patterns of the ecological community. 3. 3. Essays on lease and property valuation

    Author : Olof Netzell; Åke Gunnelin; Martin Hoesli; KTH; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; rent; space syntax; valuation; index; real estate; accessibility; capitalisation rate; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Abstract : The first two papers in this dissertation discuss a fairly recently developed research field, Space Syntax, and how the findings in this field may be used to understand spatial economic patterns such as geographic distribution of market rents. Both papers use standard econometric methods to investigate the relationship between rents and the so called integration value developed within Space Syntax. READ MORE

  4. 4. Plants go with the flow : predicting spatial distribution of plant species in the boreal forest

    Author : Ursula Zinko; Christer Nilsson; Håkan Rydin; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ecology; boreal forest; vascular plant; species richness; wetness index; soil pH; bryophyte; lichen; substrate; stand age; plot size; Ekologi; Terrestrial; freshwater and marine ecology; Terrestisk; limnisk och marin ekologi; ekologisk botanik; Ecological Botany;

    Abstract : The main objectives of this thesis are to study if a topographic wetness index (TWI) could be used as a tool for predicting the spatial distribution of vascular plant species richness in the boreal forest as well as to study congruence in species richness between vascular plants, liverworts, mosses and lichens. A wetness index ln(a/tanβ) based on topography was used to assign a specific TWI-value to every 20 x 20m grid in two 25 km2 boreal forest landscapes (differing in average soil pH) in northern Sweden. Abstract : Water has always had a controlling influence on the earth’s evolution. Understanding and modelling the large-scale hydrological cycle is important for climate prediction and water-resources studies. READ MORE
