21. Development of Laser-Induced Fluorescence for Precombustion Diagnostics in Spark-Ignition Engines
Abstract : Motivated by a desire to understand and optimize combustion in spark-ignition (SI) engines, laser techniques have been developed for measurement of fuel and residual gas, respectively, in the precombustion mixture of an operating SI engine. The primary objective was to obtain two-dimensional, quantitative data in the vicinity of the spark gap at the time of ignition. READ MORE

22. Selfconsistent theory of superconductivity in unconventional superconductors
Abstract : Superconductivity is broadly believed to stem from either electron-phonon interaction (EPI) or from purely electronic mechanisms, such as antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations. For many materials the discussion about which of these interactions is the dominant "pairing glue" is still ongoing. READ MORE

23. Some applications of representation theory in homogeneous dynamics and automorphic functions
Abstract : This thesis consists of an introduction and five papers in the general area of dynamics and functions on homogeneous spaces. A common feature is that representation theory plays a key role in all articles. READ MORE

24. Synthesis and properties of pi-conjugated polymers for organic photovoltaics
Abstract : Organic photovoltaics is a renewable energy technology able to solve global warming and the upcoming energy gap, issues that both originate from fossil fuel consumption. Out of all renewable energy sources, the Sun is the only source that produces enough energy to fulfill all our energy needs, now and in the future. READ MORE
