    Abstract : The past decades have shown an ever-increasing demand for high-rate Internet services, motivating a great effort to increase the spectral efficiency of optical networks. In general, fiber-optic links are non-Gaussian, and in contrast to additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels, there is no standard framework for quantifying fundamental limits or designing capacity-approaching coding schemes for such channels. 2. 17. Integrated Circuit Design for High Data Rate Polymer Microwave Fiber Communication

    Author : Frida Strömbeck; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The rapid development of semiconductor processes with a maximum frequency of oscillation well above 300 GHz enables new applications at frequencies above 100 GHz to be researched and developed. Such applications include wireless backhaul, wireless access, radar and radiometer sensors, wireless energy distribution and harvesting, etc. READ MORE

    Abstract : In this thesis measurement systems for the purpose ofcharacterization of radio frequency power amplifiers are studied.Methods to increase the speed, accuracy, bandwidth, as well as toreduce the sampling requirements and testing cost are presented. READ MORE

  4. 19. Breathtaking Greenhouse Parastructures : a supplement to the Arcades Project from a Caribbean Perspective [and a call for a careful practice of epistemológica]

    Author : Luis Berríos-Negrón; Leif Dahlberg; Håkan Nilsson; Florian Dombois; Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung; KTH; []

    Abstract : Breathtaking Greenhouse Parastructures is a doctoral work that supplements the unfinished modern opus The Arcades Project [in German Das Passagen-Werk (Mit Bindestrich und Werk mit Capital W) ]. The supplement takes the form of a sculptural, historical, and technological deposition of ‘greenhouse’ that presently oscillates between a past-background and future-foreground to Walter Benjamin's ‘theatrical’ handling of the Parisian arcades.
