  1. 16. A Segmented Silicon Strip Detector for Photon-Counting Spectral Computed Tomography

    Author : Cheng Xu; Hans Bornefalk; Mats Danielsson; Ami Altman; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; photon counting; spectral computed tomography; silicon strip detector; ASIC; energy resolution; cadmium telluride; charge sharing; Monte Carlo simulation; synchrotron;

    Abstract : Spectral computed tomography with energy-resolving detectors has a potential to improve the detectability of images and correspondingly reduce the radiation dose to patients by extracting and properly using the energy information in the broad x-ray spectrum. A silicon photon-counting detector has been developed for spectral CT and it has successfully solved the problem of high photon flux in clinical CT applications by adopting the segmented detector structure and operating the detector in edge-on geometry. 2. 17. Interference Coordination for Low-cost Indoor Wireless Systems in Shared Spectrum

    Author : Du Ho Kang; Jens Zander; Mischa Dohler; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Mobile broadband services have become a big success over the last several years. Innovative, smart handsets have caused explosive traffic growth which has led to a severe capacity shortage. READ MORE

  3. 18. On the Deployment of Large-Scale High-Capacity Wireless Systems with Secondary Spectrum Access

    Author : Evanny Obregon; Jens Zander; Ki Won Sung; William Webb; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SRA - ICT; SRA - Informations- och kommunikationsteknik;

    Abstract : The avalanche in mobile data consumption represents a big challenge for mobile networks operators and national regulators. This thesis focuses on finding additional spectrum to meet this demand in a cost-efficient way by considering shared spectrum access. READ MORE

  4. 19. On the Performance of Underlay Cognitive Radio Networks with Interference Constraints and Relaying

    Author : Charles Kabiri; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cognitive Radio Networks; Cognitive Cooperative Relay Networks; Underlay Spectrum Access; Interference Constraint; Outage Constraint;

    Abstract : Efficiently allocating the scarce and expensive radio resources is a key challenge for advanced radio communication systems. To this end, cognitive radio (CR) has emerged as a promising solution which can offer considerable improvements in spectrum utilization. READ MORE

  5. 20. Joint Attention in Development : Insights from Children with Autism and Infant Siblings

    Author : Emilia Thorup; Terje Falck-Ytter; Gustaf Gredebäck; Peter Mundy; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Autism Spectrum Disorder; Joint Attention; Gaze following; Alternating gaze; Social cognition; Eye tracking; Infant siblings; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Abstract : Compared to other children, children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are known to engage less in joint attention - the sharing of attention between two individuals toward a common object or event. Joint attention behaviors - for example gaze following, alternating gaze, and pointing - play an important role in early development, as they provide a foundation for learning and social interaction.
