  1. 1. Textural and chemical characterization of sulphide minerals at the Rävliden North VMS deposit, Skellefte district, Sweden

    Author : Jonathan Rincon; Nils Jansson; Christina Wanhainen; Stefan Andersson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ore Geology; Malmgeologi;

    Abstract : The discovery of new mineral deposits is essential to meet the increasing demand for metals in our society. The Skellefte mining district in Northern Sweden is one of the main producers of polymetallic ores of Cu, Zn, Pb,Ag, Au, and Te in Europe. READ MORE

  2. 2. Flotation chemistry of complex sulphide ores : recycling of process water and flotation selectivity

    Author : Fatai Kolawole Ikumapayi; Jaakko Leppinen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineral Processing; Mineralteknik;

    Abstract : Recycling of flotation effluents through the ore processing plant is one of the ways of reducing both plant-operating costs and industrial impact onto the local ecosystem. Such waters named acid mine drainage (AMD), if discharged from sulphide flotation are gypsum (CaSO4.H2O) saturated and have a high salinity (on the order of 1000 ppm). READ MORE

  3. 3. Geometallurgy of a complex ore : Lappberget Zn-Pb-Ag-(Cu-Au) deposit, Garpenberg mine, Sweden

    Author : Glacialle Tiu; Christina Wanhainen; Yousef Ghorbani; Nils Jansson; Jens Gutzmer; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Ore Geology; Malmgeologi;

    Abstract : Complex ores, in this instance, a polymetallic base metal ore with additional precious and penalty elements, pose particularly tough challenges for successful production forecasts. Plant performance and recoveries for complex ores are more difficult to predict due to the larger number of variables that must be considered, tracked, and characterized during the multi-stage separation process. 4. 4. Fluid inclusion studies of the Laisvall sandstone lead-zinc deposit, Sweden

    Author : Sten Lindblom; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The ore forming environment at Laisvall was characterized by a total salt content of 24 eq. wt-% NaCl with as much as 9 wt-% CaCl2. Its temperature fluctuated between 180°C and 120°C but generally decreased with time. The cementing mineral assemblage was deposited in the general sequence calcite, barite, fluorite, galena, sphalerite. READ MORE

  5. 5. A spectroscopic study of mechanically activated sulphide minerals

    Author : Benoit Drouet; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry of Interfaces; Gränsytors kemi;

    Abstract : Sulphide minerals are a major source of non-ferrous metals such as lead, zinc or copper. Ores are processed to be selectively separated which can be achieved by flotation. READ MORE
