  1. 16. Synthesis of well arrayed structures with assistance of statistical experimental design

    Author : Yajuan Cheng; Pär Jösson; Zhe Zhao; Gunnar Westin; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; optimization; experimental design; statistical analysis; monolayer arrays of silica spheres; vertically aligned ZnO rod arrays; Materials Science and Engineering; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : During the synthesis of well arrayed nano/micro structures through wet chemical methods, plenty of parameters are usually involved. Consequently, it is extremely time- and cost-consuming to find out the optimized synthesis conditions by using the conventional "changing one separate factor at a time" (COST) strategy. READ MORE

  2. 17. Vertical charge transport in conjugated polymers

    Author : Vasyl Skrypnychuk; Alexandr Talyzin; Ellen Moons; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; organic electronics; conjugated polymers; nanotechnology; nanoimprint lithography; graphene; P3HT; charge transport; X-ray diffraction; structure; crystallite orientation; Materials Science; materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : Conjugated polymers are novel organic electronic materials highly important for organic photovoltaic applications. Charge transport is one of the key properties which defines the performance of conjugated polymers in electronic devices. READ MORE

  3. 18. Optical and Structural Characterization of GaN Based Hybrid Structures and Nanorods

    Author : Mathias Forsberg; Galia Pozina; Ching-Lien Hsiao; Oleksandr Plashkevych; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : GaN belongs to the group III nitrides and is today the material of choice for efficient blue light emission, enabling solid state white lighting by combining red, blue and green light emitting diodes (LED) or by having a blue LED illuminating a phosphor. By combining GaN quantum well (QW) structures with colloids, nanoparticles or polyfluorene films, LEDs may be fabricate at lower cost. READ MORE

  4. 19. Tunable surfaces : using polyoxoniobates and -tantalates as molecular building blocks

    Author : Mark Rambaran; C. André Ohlin; Jean-Francois Boily; Mari-Ann Einarsrud; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This thesis describes and explains the use of aqueous polyoxometalates (POMs), as molecular building blocks in the fabrication of tunable solid-state materials, such as thin films.  Microwave irradiation in the synthesis of Nb10, Nb6 and Ta6 is a rapid and efficient alternative to conventional hydrothermal methods, while offering equal – if not greater yields – of product. 5. 20. Electrical Transport in Nanoparticle Thin Films of Gold and Indium Tin Oxide

    Author : Jesper Ederth; Knut Deppert; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Electrical transport; Nanoparticle; Nanocrystalline; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; English; engelska;

    Abstract : Electrical transport properties of nanoparticle gold films made by the gas evaporation method were analysed using resistivity measurements. Low temperature electrical transport measurements showed a cross-over from a temperature range dominated by inelastic scattering to a temperature range dominated by elastic scattering, presumably by grain boundaries.
