1. On the role of penicillin-binding protein SpoVD in endospore cortex assembly
Abstract : Bacteria of the genera Bacillus and Clostridium can form endospores as a strategy to survive unfavourable environmental conditions. Endospore formation involves synthesis of cortex, a thick layer of modified peptidoglycan that surrounds the spore. READ MORE

2. Membrane-bound thiol-disulfide oxidoreductases in Bacillus subtilis
Abstract : Disulfide bonds in proteins are found between cysteine residues and are usually important for either function or stability of proteins. Thiol-disulfide oxidoreductases catalyse the formation or breakage of disulfide bonds in proteins. READ MORE

3. Streptomyces sporulation - Genes and regulators involved in bacterial cell differentiation
Abstract : Streptomycetes are Gram-positive bacteria with a complex developmental life cycle. They form spores on specialized cells called aerial hyphae, and this sporulation involves alterations in growth, morphogenesis and cell cycle processes like cell division and chromosome segregation. 4. Studies on Thiol-Disulfide Oxidoreductases in Bacillus subtilis
Abstract : Bacillus subtilis is a model organism for endospore-forming gram-positive bacteria. Endospores are formed in response to nutrient starvation. They can resist harsh environments and last for long periods of time. Once nutrients again become available, the endospore can germinate and the vegetative life cycle be resumed. READ MORE

5. The Saccharomyces cerevisiae MAPKAP kinases Rck1 and Rck2 in stress responses
Abstract : The Saccharomyces cerevisiae protein kinases Rck1 and Rck2 (Radiation sensitivity Complementing Kinases) were originally cloned as suppressors of Schizosaccharomyces pombe checkpoint mutants. In Saccharomyces cerevisiae we found that overexpression of either kinase has the ability to depress sporulation in mec1 and rad24 mutant backgrounds. READ MORE
