  1. 1. Prediction of springback in sheet metal forming

    Author : Per-Anders Eggertsen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hardening law; Bauschinger effect; Springback; FE-simulation; Yield condition; Elastic stiffness degradation;

    Abstract : The prediction of springback is probably the area in sheet metal forming simulation, where the least success has been achieved in terms solution accuracy. The springback is caused by the release of the stresses in the workpiece after the forming stage. READ MORE

  2. 2. Prediction of springback in sheet metal forming: with emphasis on material modeling

    Author : Per-Anders Eggertsen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Springback; Hardening law; Elastic degradation; Yield surface; Simulation; Bauschinger effect;

    Abstract : The prediction of springback is probably the area in sheet metal forming simulation, where the least success has been achieved in terms solution accuracy. The springback is caused by the release of the residual stresses in the work piece after the forming stage. READ MORE

  3. 3. Macro-Geometric Defects, A numerical and experimental study of springback and surface defects

    Author : Alf Andersson; Industriell Produktion; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Simulation; Sheet-metal forming; Finite element analysis; Information exchange; Springback; Surface defects; Drawbead; Process analyse; Optimisation; materialteknik; Materiallära; Material technology;

    Abstract : Today, shortened lead-times in the automotive industry have dramatically increased the need for more efficient development methods at every stage of the process development chain. In order to decrease the long lead-time for producing a forming tool, sheet-metal-forming simulation was introduced. READ MORE

  4. 4. Improved high velocity cold copaction processing : polymer powder to high performance parts

    Author : Bruska Azhdar; Sture Persson; Cornell Nicolescu; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; high-velocity compaction; powder polymers; polyamide-11; relaxation assist; compactibility; relative green density; morphology; pull-out; springback; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Abstract : A uniaxial High-Velocity Compaction (HVC) process for polymer powder using a cylindrical, hardened steel die and a new technique with relaxation assist was tested with a focus on the compactibility characteristics and surface morphology of the compacted materials using various heights of relaxation assist device with different compacting profiles. Relaxation assist device was presented as a new technique to reduce springback, pull-out phenomenon and to improve the compaction process. READ MORE

  5. 5. Concepts for hot sheet metal forming of titanium alloys

    Author : Eva-Lis Odenberger; Roger Reed; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hot sheet metal forming; Titanium; FE simulation; Validation; Springback; HCP; Varmforming; Titan; FE simulering; Validering; Återfjädring; HCP; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : To increase the competitiveness of the Swedish aero engine industry alternative manufacturing methods for load carrying aero engine structures are desired, in order to reduce product cost and enable weight reduction and thereby fuel consumption. Traditionally, these structures mainly consist of large-scaled single castings of e.g. READ MORE
