1. On Inter-bar Currents in Induction Motors with Cast Aluminium and Cast Copper Rotors
Abstract : This thesis presents a study of the effects of inter-bar currents on inductionmotor starting performance and stray-load losses. The work is focused on theperformance differences between aluminium and copper casted rotors.A method to predict the stator current when starting direct-on-line isdeveloped. READ MORE

2. Attitudes towards starting small business : youth and local authorities in a changing labour market?
Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to examine the extent to which a local authority can change the attitudes of its youth, away from public sector employment to the development of small business, through education. Traditionally the region of Norrbotten has favoured the public sector. READ MORE

3. Model-checking and Model-based Testing of Automotive Embedded Systems : Starting from the System Architecture
Abstract : Nowadays, modern vehicles are equipped with electrical and electronic systems that implement highly complex functions such as anti-lock braking or cruise control. The use of such embedded systems in the automotive domain requires a revised development process that addresses their particular features. READ MORE

4. Analysis and control of magnetic forces in synchronous machines
Abstract : In a synchronous machine, radial, tangential, and axial forces are generated. In this thesis, three different technologies to control them are proposed. The first one, involves the utilization of the radial forces that arise between the rotor and the stator. READ MORE

5. Analysis and Reduction of Parasitic Effects in Induction Motors With Die-Cast Rotors
Abstract : This thesis presents a study of inter-bar current effects on induction motors with die-cast aluminium and die-cast copper rotors. The parasitic effects introduced by these currents are analyzed and possible solutions to these problems are presented. This is realized by developing analytical tools for the simulation of inter-bar current effects. READ MORE
