  1. 21. Flow Control and Shape Optimization of Intermediate Turbine Ducts for Turbofan Engines

    Author : Fredrik Wallin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CFD; response surface methodology; intermediate turbine duct; vortex generators; turbine intermediate case; endwall contouring; turbine center frame; body-force model; shape optimization; mid-turbine frame; flow control;

    Abstract : Demands on improved efficiency, reduced emissions and lowered noise levels cause a strive towards high by-pass ratios of commercial turbofan engines. This results in an increased radial offset between the high- and low-pressure turbines. Thus the design of the intermediate turbine duct connecting the two turbines becomes more challenging. 2. 22. Enlightening Water : Science, market & regulation of mineral waters in eighteenth-century France

    Author : Armel Cornu; H. Otto Sibum; Hjalmar Fors; Sven Widmalm; Jakob Vogel; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Mineral waters; Eighteenth century; French Enlightenment; History of science; History of chemistry; Social history; Société de Médecine; History of Sciences and Ideas; Idé- och lärdomshistoria;

    Abstract : My thesis investigates the process through which French mineral waters were conceptually and materially transformed by the forces of market, regulation, and science during the Enlightenment. Tracing this process deepens current understandings of eighteenth-century societies, and presents a novel image of the development of medicine and chemistry. READ MORE

  3. 23. On Trajectory Generation for Robots

    Author : Mahdi Ghazaei; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Haptic Interface; Fixed-Time Point-to-Point Trajectory Generation; Online Trajectory Generation; Dynamic Simulation and Optimization; Dynamics with Varying Contacts; Iterative Learning Control;

    Abstract : A fundamental problem in robotics is the generation of motion for a task. How to translate a task to a set of movements is a non-trivial problem. READ MORE

  4. 24. Chlorophyll fluorescence as a biological feedback signal -for optimized plant growth conditions and stress diagnosis

    Author : Linnéa Ahlman; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cucumber; indoor farming; abiotic stress; Fluorescence gain; ESC; biotic stress; basil; dynamics; strawberries; light spectrum; greenhouse lighting control; lettuce; powdery mildew Podosphaera aphanis; Pythium ultimum; LED; classification; lemon balm;

    Abstract : The use of light emitting diodes (LEDs) instead of traditional high pressure sodium lamps, in greenhouses and indoor growing facilities, enables tuning and optimization of both light intensity and light spectrum. This opens for an energy saving potential not possible otherwise. READ MORE

  5. 25. Individual Responsibility for the Crime of Aggression

    Author : Nikola R. Hajdin; Pål Wrange; Claus Kress; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; crime of aggression; international criminal law; individual criminal responsibility; Nuremberg; leadership clause; control or direct; shape or influence; actus reus; decisive influence; perpetration for aggression; complicity for aggression; rättsvetenskap med inriktning mot folkrätt; Legal Science; specialisation Public International Law;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the attribution of criminal responsibility for the crime of aggression in international criminal law. Prosecuting aggression is predicated by the so-called leadership clause—an individual can be held responsible only if he or she meets the requirement of being in a position of control over or to direct state action.
