  1. 6. Fibromyalgia and self-regulatory patterns : development, maintenance or recovery in women

    Author : Kerstin Wentz; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Fibromyalgia; Psychometric instruments; Dissociation; Repression; Self-loading; Self-regulation; Recovery; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Fibromyalgi - psykologiska aspekter; Fibromyalgia; Self Concept; pain; self-loading; self-regulation; interviews;

    Abstract : Aims: The overall aim of this thesis was to elucidate psychological processes and development, maintenance or recovery related to fibromyalgia based on in depth interviews. In a next step women with fibromyalgia, women without long-lasting pain and women with long-lasting pain were compared using psychometric instruments selected or developed based on qualitative results. 2. 7. Methyltransferase Ash1, histone methylation and their impact on Polycomb repression

    Author : Eshagh Dorafshan Esfahani; Yuri B. Schwartz; Jan Larsson; Dale Dorsett; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Trithorax Group proteins; Polycomb Group proteins; PRC1; PRC2; PRE; histone methylation; histone ubiquitylation; Ash1; SET domain; H3K36; H3K27; Drosophila;

    Abstract : Antagonistic interactions between Polycomb Group (PcG) and Trithorax Group (TrxG) proteins orchestrate the expression of key developmental genes. Distinct maternally loaded repressors establish the silenced state of these genes in cells where they should not be expressed and later PcG proteins sense whether a target gene is inactive and maintain the repression throughout multiple cell divisions. 3. 8. The Bacillus subtilis GlpP protein, antitermination and mRNA stability

    Author : Elisabeth Glatz; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Microbiology; leader sequence; glpD; GlpP; catabolite repression; mRNA stability; Bacillus subtilis; antiterminator protein; bacteriology; virology; mycology; Mikrobiologi; bakteriologi; virologi; mykologi;

    Abstract : Bacillus subtilis can grow on glycerol or glycerol-3-phosphate (G3P) as the sole carbon and energy source. The glpD gene encodes G3P dehydrogenase which is required for the catabolism of glycerol and G3P. READ MORE

  4. 9. The interplay of transcription and chromatin regulation during embryonic development

    Author : George Hunt; Mattias Mannervik; Eileen Furlong; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; transcription; chromatin; chromatin-modifiers; p300 CBP; Polycomb repression; promoter proximal Pol II pausing; molekylär biovetenskap; Molecular Bioscience;

    Abstract : A fascinating aspect of multicellular development is the production of diverse cell types from an identical DNA genome, which depends on the ability to express different complements of genes across space and time. This thesis tries to address how the genome, within the chromatin structure that envelops it, is regulated to direct this complex process. READ MORE
