11. The Effective Convectivity Model for Simulation and Analysis of Melt Pool Heat Transfer in a Light Water Reactor Pressure Vessel Lower Head
Abstract : Severe accidents in a Light Water Reactor (LWR) have been a subject of intense research for the last three decades. The research in this area aims to reach understanding of the inherent physical phenomena and reduce the uncertainties in their quantification, with the ultimate goal of developing models that can be applied to safety analysis of nuclear reactors, and to evaluation of the proposed accident management schemes for mitigating the consequences of severe accidents. 12. Improved Fluidized Bed Drying Technology for Wood Fuels
Abstract : In this thesis, I discuss experiences from designing, building and evaluating two research plants, which use circulating, atmospheric pressure superheated steam as drying medium for drying sawdust in a fluidized bed. The increased use of pellets has created a demand for new drying equipment at the Swedish pellet plants. READ MORE

13. Studies on Industrial-Scale Thermal Modification of Wood
Abstract : Wood as a raw material is useful for many purposes even though some properties are less than optimal, for example, dimensional stability and durability. These characteristics can however be improved by different treatment methods. READ MORE

14. Experimental Investigation of Performance, Flow Interactions and Rotor Forcing in Axial Partial Admission Turbines
Abstract : The thesis comprises a collection of four papers with preceding summary and supplementary appendices. The core investigation solely is of experimental nature although reference and comparisons with numerical models will be addressed. READ MORE

15. Development and Applications of a General Coupled Thermal-hydraulic/Neutronic Model for the
Abstract : Coupled calculations are important for the simulation of nuclear power plants when there is a strongfeedback between the neutron kineticsand the thermal-hydraulics. A general coupled model of the Ringhals-3 Pressurized Water Reactor has beendeveloped for this purpose. READ MORE
