6. Improved Steam Turbine Design for Optimum Efficiency and Reduced Cost of Ownership
Abstract : The cost of ownership of a power plant is partly governed by the efficiency of the turbine island. The turbine stands for the production revenues when transforming the energy in fuel into electric power and district heating. READ MORE

7. High-Temperature Durability Prediction of Ferritic-Martensitic Steel
Abstract : Materials used for high-temperature steam turbine sections are generally subjected to harsh environments with temperatures up to 625 °C. The superior creep resistance of 9–12 % Cr ferritic-martensitic steels makes them desirable for those critical steam turbine components. READ MORE

8. Study of possibilities and some problems of using cane residues as fuel in a gas turbine for power generation in the sugar industry
Abstract : The potential of cane residuals as a source of energy could help many developing countries to improve their balance of payments by decreasing fossil fuels imports and increasing the electrical power production. A substantial increase of the electricity output in the sugar industry could be achieved by using a combined gas turbine/steam turbine integrated with gasifier supplying combustible gas to the gas turbine combustor. 9. On the On-line Tools for Treatment of Deterioration in Industrial Processes
Abstract : For industrial processes high availability and efficiency are important goals in plant operation. This thesis presents studies and development of tools for on-line treatment of process deterioration and model and sensor errors in order to achieve these goals. READ MORE
