Abstract : This thesis concerns a research project about psoriasis care and conse¬quences of psoriasis in the county of Västerbotten in Northern Sweden. The overall aim of the thesis is to contribute to improvement of psoriasis care through increased knowledge of the use and accessibility of psoriasis care, and knowledge of impact of psoriasis on patients’ daily lives by describing and interpreting: (i) accessibility and use of psoriasis care, (ii) consequences of having psoriasis in everyday life, and (iii) dilemmas in psoriasis care and visions of future care among professionals, politicians and administrators. 13. Crime, punishment, and counselling – a study of the local judicial and social work application of prostitution policy in Sweden
Abstract : This thesis explores the social construction of a purchase of a sexual service within the implementation of prostitution policy in Sweden and seeks to contribute to the current knowledge about how a purchase of a sexual service is regulated based on how the law and social work are locally implemented. The thesis consists of four papers based on two empirical studies, including legal documents concerning the enforcement of the Swedish Sex Purchase Act (Chapter 6 Section 11 of the Criminal Code), and interviews with professionals within social services providing counselling to individuals with the experience of purchasing sexual services. Abstract : The overall aim of this thesis was to obtain an understanding of the dynamics of the HIV epidemic by estimating prevalence and exploring the relationship between HIV-related knowledge, attitudes, behavior, and HIV status in Nicaragua. Abstract : This thesis investigates a contextual behavioral approach for obesity surgery patients. In a contextual approach a behavior is interpreted as inseparable from its current and historical context.
