  1. 16. Genesis and tectonic setting of the hypozonal Fäboliden orogenic gold deposit, northern Sweden

    Author : Glenn Bark; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ore Geology; Malmgeologi;

    Abstract : The well-known Skellefte Ore District, northern Sweden, hosts a large number of massive sulphide deposits, a few porphyry-type-deposits and a number of gold deposits in different geological settings. Southwest of this district a new ore province, the so called Gold Line, is presently being uncovered. READ MORE

  2. 17. New styles of intrusive related copper-gold deposits in northern Sweden

    Author : Therese Bejgarn; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : The Älgträsk Au-deposit is situated in the Jörn Granitoid Complex (JGC) immediately north of the Skellefte VMS district, northern Sweden. The Skellefte VMS district comprise a complex volcanosedimentary sequence, which has been interpreted as the remnant of a Palaeoproterozoic island arc or continental margin arc situated behind a northward dipping subduction zone. 3. 18. Age, origin and tectonothermal modification of the Falun pyritic Zn-Pb-Cu-(Au-Ag) sulphide deposit, Bergslagen, Sweden

    Author : Tobias Christoph Kampmann; Pär Weihed; Michael B. Stephens; Nils F. Jansson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : The Falun pyritic Zn-Pb-Cu-(Au-Ag) sulphide deposit, situated in the Palaeoproterozoic (1.9–1.8 Ga) Bergslagen lithotectonic unit in the south-western part of the Fennoscandian Shield, is one of the major base and precious metal sulphide deposits in Sweden. READ MORE

  4. 19. Textural and chemical characterization of sulphide minerals at the Rävliden North VMS deposit, Skellefte district, Sweden

    Author : Jonathan Rincon; Nils Jansson; Christina Wanhainen; Stefan Andersson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ore Geology; Malmgeologi;

    Abstract : The discovery of new mineral deposits is essential to meet the increasing demand for metals in our society. The Skellefte mining district in Northern Sweden is one of the main producers of polymetallic ores of Cu, Zn, Pb,Ag, Au, and Te in Europe. READ MORE

  5. 20. Parameters Controlling Distribution of Diagenetic Alterations within Fluvial and Shallow Marine Sandstone Reservoirs : Evidence from the Libyan Basins

    Author : Muftah Khalifa; Hemin Koyi; Joao Marcelo Medina Ketzer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Diagenesis; Structural setting; Depositional facies; Basin thermal history; Ther- mal Hot basinal brines; Fluid inclusions; Raman Spectrometry; Stylolites; Hydro-carbon migration; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Earth Science with specialization in Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Abstract : This thesis demonstrates that geological setting, depositional facies, open system flux of hot basinal brines and descending of shallow waters have a strong impact on the distribution of the diagenetic alterations within continental and paralic/shallow marine sandstones which in turn control the quality and heterogeneities of the reservoirs.Geological setting controls the mineralogical and textural maturity of sandstone, whereas depositional facies control the pore water chemistry (marine, brackish or meteoric), sedimentary texture and sand body geometry.
