  1. 11. Meta-Languages and Semantics for Equation-Based Modeling and Simulation

    Author : David Broman; Peter Fritzson; Jeremy Siek; Thomas Schön; Björn Lisper; Walid Taha; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Meta-language; semantics; EOO; Modelica; equations; modeling; simulation; MKL; Computer science; Datalogi;

    Abstract : Performing computational experiments on mathematical models instead of building and testing physical prototypes can drastically reduce the develop cost for complex systems such as automobiles, aircraft, and powerplants. In the past three decades, a new category of equation-based modeling languages has appeared that is based on acausal and object-oriented modeling principles, enabling good reuse of models. READ MORE

  2. 12. Data Modeling for Outlier Detection

    Author : Shahrooz Abghari; Niklas Lavesson; Håkan Grahn; Veselka Boeva; Anders Holst; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; data modeling; cluster analysis; stream data; outlier detection;

    Abstract : This thesis explores the data modeling for outlier detection techniques in three different application domains: maritime surveillance, district heating, and online media and sequence datasets. The proposed models are evaluated and validated under different experimental scenarios, taking into account specific characteristics and setups of the different domains. READ MORE

  3. 13. MODELING AND OPTIMIZATION OF WASHING MACHINE VIBRATION DYNAMICS DURING SPINNING

    Author : Thomas Nygårds; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Semi-active control; Vibration dynamics; Experiment; Washing machine; Modeling; Optimization; Magnetorheological damper.; Suspension system; Spinning;

    Abstract : A washing machine as a product is familiar to almost everyone in all developed countries. Thisthesis deals with the dynamics of modern washing machines of household type. READ MORE

  4. 14. Thermal Crack Risk Estimation and Material Properties of Young Concrete

    Author : Anders Hösthagen; Jan-Erik Jonasson; Mårten Larson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Thermal cracking risk; young concrete; Equivalent Restraint Method; strength development; heat of hydration; creep; shrinkage; thermal dilation; modeling; field observations; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis presents how to establish a theoretical model to predict risk of thermal cracking in young concrete when cast on ground or an arbitrary construction. The crack risk in young concrete is determined in two steps: 1) calculation of temperature distribution within newly cast concrete and adjacent structure; 2) calculation of stresses caused by thermal and moisture (due to self-desiccation, if drying shrinkage not included) changes in the analyzed structure. 5. 15. Towards Virtual Tryout and Digital Twins : Enhanced Modeling of Elastic Dies, Sheet Materials, and Friction in Sheet Metal Forming

    Author : Johan Pilthammar; Sharon Kao-Walter; Mats Sigvant; Wolfram Volk; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Sheet Metal Forming; Stamping Die; Virtual Tryout; Digital Twin; Stamping Press; Structural Analysis; Finite Element Simulation; Optimization; Digital Image Correlation; Inverse Modeling; Maskinteknik; Mechanical Engineering;

    Abstract : Competition and complexity in the global car market are continuously increasing. To gain an edge in the market while making a profit, each competitor in the market needs a strong focus on technology development. Such a focus will increase the value of the product for the customers. READ MORE
