  1. 16. Window-based congestion control : Modeling, analysis and design

    Author : Niels Möller; Karl Henrik Johansson; Rayadurgam Srikant; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Internet; Congestion control; Window-based; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a model for the ACK-clock inner loop, common to virtually all Internet congestion control protocols, and analyzes the stability properties of this inner loop, as well as the stability and fairness properties of several window update mechanisms built on top of the ACK-clock. Aided by the model for the inner-loop, two new congestion control mechanisms are constructed, for wired and wireless networks. READ MORE

  2. 17. Supporting Form Synthesis: Modeling Product Structure and Behavior in a Computerized Environment

    Author : Peter Schachinger; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; design support; Computer-Aided Design; product model; product design; functional modeling; form; specification; industrial design; engineering design; Virtual Reality;

    Abstract : Design of consumer products involves a high degree of uncertainty, especially at the beginning of a project. There therefore exists a need for more accurate decision-making in product synthesis. READ MORE

  3. 18. Perspectives on Cooperative Design

    Author : Sinna Lindquist; Yngve Sundblad; Ann Lantz; Toni Roberstson; KTH; []
    Keywords : Cooperative design; design process; culture; individual; intersectionality; power structure; triangulation; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : The cooperative design approach, which research and practice have proven to be successful in several ways, is based on understanding users and their contexts through a variety of methods. This approach of working closely together with the users, however, is not the same thing as letting the users decide themselves what to design. READ MORE

  4. 19. Service-based Processes : Design for business and technology

    Author : Martin Henkel; Paul Johannesson; Michel Leonard; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Business Process Models; Service Oriented Computing; SOC; SOA; Service Engineering; Computer and systems science; Data- och systemvetenskap;

    Abstract : The concepts of processes and services can be used to structure both businesses and software systems. From a business perspective, the use of processes promises efficient management of organizations. READ MORE

  5. 20. Surface Roughness Considerations in Design for Additive Manufacturing: A Space Industry Case Study

    Author : Didunoluwa Obilanade; Peter Törlind; Christo Dordlofva; Anna Rönnbäck Öhrwall; Marta-Lena Antti; Stankovic Tino; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Additive Manufacturing; Space Industry; Surface Roughness; Design for Additive Manufacturing; DfAM; Laser Powder Bed Fusion; Produktinnovation; Product Innovation;

    Abstract : Additive Manufacturing (AM), commonly known as 3D printing, represents manufacturing technology that creates objects layer by layer based on 3D model data. AM technologies have capabilities that provide engineers with new design opportunities outside the constraints of traditional subtractive manufacturing. READ MORE
