  1. 1. Design and Identification of Wireless Transmitters for a Low-power and Secure Internet of Things

    Author : Wenqing Yan; Christian Rohner; Thiemo Voigt; Ambuj Varshney; Haitham Hassanieh; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wireless transmitters; Wireless embedded systems; Physical-layer security; Radiometric fingerprinting; Radio frequency fingerprinting; Identification; Authentication; Backscatter communication; Internet of Things; Electrical Engineering with Specialisation in Networked Embedded Systems; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot nätverksbaserade inbyggda system; Computer Science with specialization in Computer Communication; Datavetenskap med inriktning mot datorkommunikation;

    Abstract : Wireless communication is a key enabler for connecting billions of Internet of Things devices. For networked embedded devices operating on limited energy resources, wireless communication dominates the power consumption. READ MORE

  2. 2. Power Scaling of Highly Compact Single-Frequency Yb-Doped Fiber Amplifiers

    Author : Enkeleda Balliu; Hans-Erik Nilsson; Magnus Engholm; Pavel Peterka; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; single-frequency; fiber amplifier; Yb-doped fibers; stimulated Brillouin scattering; compact lasers; thermal load; SHG; MOPA;

    Abstract : Both scientific interests and industrial applications have stimulated the advance of single-frequency laser technology. The high spatial and temporal coherence of this technology has facilitated many applications such as gravitational wave detection, high-precision fiber sensors, high-resolution spectroscopy, holography, and nonlinear optical conversion. 3. 3. Artificial Intelligence for Non-Contact-Based Driver Health Monitoring

    Author : Hamidur Rahman; Mobyen Uddin Ahmed; Shahina Begum; Peter Funk; Hasan Fleyeh; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Driver Monitoring; Artificial Intelligence; Machine Learning; Deep Learning; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : In clinical situations, a patient’s physical state is often monitored by sensors attached to the patient, and medical staff are alerted if the patient’s status changes in an undesirable or life-threatening direction. However, in unsupervised situations, such as when driving a vehicle, connecting sensors to the driver is often troublesome and wired sensors may not produce sufficient quality due to factors such as movement and electrical disturbance. 4. 4. Explainable Artificial Intelligence for Enhancing Transparency in Decision Support Systems

    Author : Mir Riyanul Islam; Mobyen Uddin Ahmed; Shahina Begum; Kerstin Bach; Mälardalens universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : Artificial Intelligence (AI) is recognized as advanced technology that assist in decision-making processes with high accuracy and precision. However, many AI models are generally appraised as black boxes due to their reliance on complex inference mechanisms. READ MORE

  5. 5. Facilitating Automated Compliance Checking of Processes against Safety Standards

    Author : Julieth Patricia Castellanos Ardila; Barbara Gallina; Faiz UL Muram; Rory O'Connor; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Automated Compliance Checking; Safety-critical Systems; Safety Standards Formalization; Safety Processes; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : A system is safety-critical if its malfunctioning could have catastrophic consequences for people, property or the environment, e.g., the failure in a car's braking system could be potentially tragic. To produce such type of systems, special procedures, and strategies, that permit their safer deployment into society, should be used. READ MORE
