6. Deactivation mechanisms influencing the performance and durability of exhaust aftertreatment systems
Abstract : As countermeasure to air pollution and global warming, more stringent environmental policy measures will probably come into force with the future emission standards, which will require important developments for gasoline and diesel vehicles to meet the emerging criteria. Efficient catalytic formulations and advanced strategies for exhaust aftertreatment systems will be therefore demanded to provide both high catalytic activity and stability, minimizing the environmental impact by automobiles. 7. Oxygen Vacancy Chemistry in Ceria
Abstract : Cerium(IV) oxide (CeO2), ceria, is an active metal oxide used in solid oxide fuel cells and for the purification of exhaust gases in vehicle emissions control. Behind these technically important applications of ceria lies one overriding feature, namely ceria's exceptional reduction-oxidation properties. READ MORE

8. Catalytic combustion of gasified waste
Abstract : This thesis concerns catalytic combustion for gas turbineapplication using a low heating-value (LHV) gas, derived fromgasified waste. The main research in catalytic combustionfocuses on methane as fuel, but an increasing interest isdirected towards catalytic combustion of LHV fuels. READ MORE

9. Fundamental studies of catalytic systems for diesel emission control
Abstract : Due to global lean exhaust gas and new emission regulations, exhaust aftertreatment systems of diesel engines are more and more sophisticated and composed of a series of catalytic units. In the present work, two of these catalytic systems were studied with different approach. READ MORE

10. Complete methane oxidation over alumina and zeolite supported palladium for emission control
Abstract : The use of methane-based fuels, such as natural gas and biogas, gives lower emissions of for instance carbon dioxide (CO2) and particulate matters compared to traditionally used liquid fossil fuels. However, the exhaust gases contain significant levels of unburnt methane (CH4) residuals, which are desirable to minimize since CH4 has a high global warming potential. READ MORE
