1. Mass transfer and slag-metal reaction in ladle refining : a CFD approach
Abstract : In order to optimise the ladle treatment mass transfer modelling of aluminium addition and homogenisation time was carried out. It was stressed that incorporating slag-metal reactions into the mass transfer modelling strongly would enhance the reliability and amount of information to be analyzed from the CFD calculations. 2. Sulphide capacities of mulicomponent slags
Abstract : In the present thesis, experimental measurements have beencarried out to determine the sulphide capacities of the binaryslags Al2O3-MnO, "FeO"-SiO2, "FeO"-CaO, "FeO"-MnO, ternary slags Al2O3-MgO-SiO2, Al2O3-MnO-SiO2, Al2O3-CaO-MgO, MgO-MnO-SiO2, Al2O3-MgO-MnO,"FeO"-Al2O3-SiO2, "FeO"-CaO-SiO2, "FeO"-MgO-SiO2, "FeO"-MnO-SiO2,quatenary slags Al2O3-CaO-MgO-MnO, Al2O3- CaO-MgO-SiO2,Al2O3-CaO-MnO-SiO2, CaO-MgO-MnO-SiO2, quinary slag Al2O3-CaO-MgO-MnO-SiO2, and the six component slag "FeO"-Al2O3-CaO-MgO-MnO-SiO2.The technique used was to bring the melt to equilibrium witha gas mixturecontaining Ar-CO-CO2-SO2. 3. A model of pH and redox buffer depletion in waste landfills
Abstract : The geochemical processes governing the release of heavymetal contaminants from solid waste materials have been studiedexperimentally and modelled using a mass balance approach. Theaim of the modelling work was to develop calculation tools thatcan be used to predict the release rate of heavy metals fromwaste heaps or landfills. READ MORE

4. Studies on High Alumina Blast Furnace Slags
Abstract : In the present work, viscosities and sulphide capacities of high alumina blast furnace slags were investigated. The systems investigated were four component CaO-SiO2-MgO-Al2O3 quaternary system, CaO-SiO2-MgO-Al2O3-TiO2 and CaO-SiO2-MgO-Al2O3-CaF2 quinary systems. READ MORE

5. Experimental and modelling studies of the thermophysical and thermochemical properties of some slag systems
Abstract : In order to optimize the metallurgical processes it is necessary to improve the understandings of the industrial slag properties, which include thermophysical and thermochemical properties. In the present study Mass Triangle Model was applied to predict these properties. READ MORE
