  1. 16. Flotation selectivity, process modelling and simulation for a complex sulphide ore

    Author : Xuemin Yuan; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Abstract : This thesis covers research with different methods on the same fine-grained complex sulphide ore - Petiknäs - from the Skellefte Field in Northern Sweden. Mineralogical research results demonstrate that the degree of liberation of galena, rather than the chemical factors under the current flotation conditions, is the dominant factor affecting Pb grade and recovery, since galena has the same flotation as chalcopyrite if having the same degree of liberation. 2. 17. Aqueous geochemistry of pit lakes : two cases studies at Rävlidmyran and Udden, Sweden

    Author : Lu Ming; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Abstract : Two abandoned pit lakes in northern Sweden were studied in order to improve the understanding of the geochemistry of pit lakes, Rävlidmyran Pit Lake and Udden Pit Lake. Both lakes show strong similarity with other mining lakes in terms of low pH and high metal and sulphate contents. READ MORE

  3. 18. Mineralogical Controls on the Recovery of Antimony in Base-Metal Flotation – Outlining the Framework of a Geometallurgical Model for the Rockliden VHMS Deposit, Sweden

    Author : Friederike Minz; Julie Hunt; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : The results presented in this thesis are a case study on the polymetallic Zn–Cu volcanic-hosted massive sulphide (VHMS) deposit at Rockliden. The Rockliden mineralisation is located in north-central Sweden, about 150 km south of the Skellefte district. READ MORE

  4. 19. Fractionation of Cu and Fe isotopes in metal-rich mine sites : biotic and abiotic processes

    Author : Nathalie Pérez Rodríguez; Magnus Land; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cu and Fe isotopes; fractionation; tailings; plants; phytoremediation; organic amendments; soil bacteria; Cu and Fe cycle; covellite; redox processes; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Abstract : After mineral exploitation the residual grinded and milled material, rich in sulphide minerals and heavy metals, is often left exposed to the atmospheric variables. This weathered mine waste material can lead to the formation of acid mine drainage (AMD) which has negative effects to the environment. READ MORE

  5. 20. Chalcopyrite Dissolution in Sulphate-Based Leaching and Bioleaching Systems

    Author : Mohammad Khoshkhoo; Wolfgang Sand; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Process Metallurgy; Processmetallurgi;

    Abstract : Chalcopyrite (CuFeS2) is the most abundant and the most economically important copper mineral. Increasing worldwide demand for copper accompanied by exhaustion of copper resources necessitate the development of new processes for treating lower-grade copper ores. READ MORE
