  1. 1. Social and regional differentials in population health status, values for health, and subjective well-being in China

    Author : Sun Sun; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : China;

    Abstract : The overarching aim of this thesis is to increase knowledge on population health-related quality of life and subjective well-being, and to explore values for health states in China. The EQ-5D instrument was included in the National Health Services Survey 2008 (n = 120,700, aged 15-103 years) to measure health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in all 31 provinces in mainland China. 2. 2. A feasibility and applicability study of a health-related quality of life measurement in Vietnam

    Author : Mai Vu Thi Quynh; Klas-Göran Sahlén; Lars Lindholm; Sun Sun; Hoang Van Minh; Kim Bao Giang; Feng Xie; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Health related quality of life; health technology assessment; Vietnam; health preference measures; epidemiologi; Epidemiology;

    Abstract : Introduction: An evidence-based strategy is used the national social health-insurance programme in Vietnam to assess healthcare technologies. Health technology assessments (HTA) have become increasingly important within decision-making processes. READ MORE

  3. 3. Understanding the Role of Seed Particle Material on III-As Nanowire Growth

    Author : Rong Sun; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Keywords : seminconductor materials; nanowire growth; catalyst; metalorganic vapor phase epitaxy MOVPE ; Tin; Fysicumarkivet A:2018:Sun;

    Abstract : III-V semiconductor nanowires have attracted extensive research interests over the past few decades due to their unique geometry and great potential for promoting new functionalities in future electronics, light-emitting diodes and solar cells. However, in order to push this technology beyond the laboratory level, it is essential to combine it with the current Si-based semiconductor industry for affordable production. READ MORE

  4. 4. Development and Application of Non-linear Mid-infrared Laser Spectroscopy for Combustion Diagnostics

    Author : Zhiwei Sun; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Degenerate four-wave mixing; Polarization spectroscopy; Mid-infrared; Non-linear laser spectroscopy; Laser diagnostics; Combustion; Flame; HITRAN; Concentration; Temperature; Fysicumarkivet A:2012:Sun;

    Abstract : The work reported in this thesis involved the development and application of two novel infrared non-linear laser techniques, namely mid-infrared polarization spectroscopy (IRPS) and mid-infrared degenerate four-wave mixing (IR-DFWM) to combustion diagnostics. These two techniques meet the needs of species concentration detection in combustion environments, especially for those species lacking accessible electronic (one-photon) transitions in the ultraviolet (UV) or visible spectral region. 5. 5. Epigenetics in nasopharyngeal carcinoma

    Author : Di Sun; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : NPC; Methylation; TSG; EBV; LMP1; CDH13; RASSF2A; MMSP;

    Abstract : Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) shows a remarkably distinctive ethnic and geographic distribution among the world suggesting that genetic susceptibility backgrounds cooperate with the environmental risk factors in etiology of NPCs. Among the environmental factors, much attention has been focused on a well-documented association with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), which can be detected in 100% undifferentiated NPCs. READ MORE
