  1. 21. Applied Machine Learning in District Heating System

    Author : Samuel O. Idowu; Christer Åhlund; Saguna Saguna; Olov Schelén; Fredrik Sandin; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Pervasive Mobile Computing; Distribuerade datorsystem;

    Abstract : In an increasingly applied domain of pervasive computing, sensing devices are being deployed progressively for data acquisition from various systems through the use of technologies such as wireless sensor networks. Data obtained from such systems are used analytically to advance or improve system performance or efficiency. READ MORE

    Abstract : Developments in measurement technology, communication and data storage have resulted in measurement systems that produce large amount of data. Together with the long existing need for characterizing the performance of the power system this has resulted in demand for automatic and efficient information-extraction methods. READ MORE

  3. 23. Passive Island Detection of Microgrid by Grid Forming Inverter

    Author : Shoaib Salim Inamdar; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; microgrid; passive island detection; Grid forming; rotor angle deviation; non-detection zone; inertia; virtual synchronous machine; voltage vector shift.;

    Abstract : The supply reliability of a local grid will be improved if the local grid is managed as a microgrid, with the ability to operate in island mode when the main grid is temporarily unavailable. This thesis focuses on microgrids powered by inverter-based resources (IBRs), one or several of which need to be equipped with grid forming (GFM) capability for establishing and controlling the voltage and frequency of the microgrid during island operation. Abstract : Urbanization is one of the great challenges in the 21st century. Despite being an engine for the global economy, urban areas consume 78% of World's energy and emit more than 60% of greenhouse gas emission. Sub-SaharanAfrican cities, e.g. READ MORE

  5. 25. Multitemporal Spaceborne Polarimetric SAR Data for Urban Land Cover Mapping

    Author : Xin Niu; Yifang Ban; Laurent Ferro-Famil; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; RADARSAT-2; Spaceborne; Polarimetric SAR; Urban Land cover; Object-based Rule-based Classification; Support Vector Machines; Contextual; Stochastic Expectation-Maximization; Markov Random Field.;

    Abstract : Urban land cover mapping represents one of the most important remote sensing applications in the context of rapid global urbanization. In recent years, high resolution spaceborne Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) has been increasingly used for urban land cover/land-use mapping, since more information could be obtained in multiple polarizations and the collection of such data is less influenced by solar illumination and weather conditions.
